For a teething puppy, take an old washcloth and tie a knot in it. Soak it in water and freeze = puppy teething toy. (Be sure to keep an eye on puppy when she is playing with this!) Have several ready to go and rotate them. THREE HOURS oh my, I'm so jealous. We are down to 20 minutes now My border collie is like an electric pencil sharpener with those things! LOL
They now have these to go on the bully stick to slow down the chew. Picked a couple up for the two Shih Tzu to test out. So far, success!
ETA: I forgot to mention "yak crack" - www.himalayandogchew.com/ They even make bully sticks with the chew wrapped around it. You can find these at local pet stores or online. www.amazon.com/HDC-Yaky-Stick-12-Inch-Each/dp/B00F8H91MI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466006578&sr=8-1&keywords=wrapped+bully+stick

What about those woven cotton rope dog toys? I would be careful with those as chew toys. Someone told me they had a pup that chewed on that and ended up with a gut full of string debris from it. Operation ensued. I would agree with ellen on elk antlers. My Costco has been carrying them in 1 lb? packages for around $30.00 - about 4-5 good sized antlers per package. Compared to one antler at around $15 at some places, the Costco deal is a great deal. One of my terriers didn't need an operation after swallowing string but I had to help pull strings out of her butt. Not pleasant!
