I see that Jennifer McGuire has done a video recently on these brushes. I've seen them in the past but never felt the need to have a set. Now that they are on my "have to have them" list, does anyone know where you can buy them? Are they called something else? I have a couple of art supply stores nearby but don't know if they would carry such a thing.

I'd like to get a set also but I'm not paying $25 at Simon Says Stamp. I saw them for $15 at another site but they were OOS.
I'm going to Michael's soon and I'm going to see if I can find something more generic to try out.

Here is a LINK where you can win a set if you comment before tomorrow midnight. Of course you will be competing with over a thousand other people--including ME!

Thanks grammadee! I"m one of the thousand or so that have already left a comment! Would love to win a set of those brushes... I seriously didn't think I even needed them until I watched her video! That girl is so bad for my credit card!

You don't need brushes for stencils. Makeup sponges work amazing and much cheaper. Though I will say I don't watch Jennifer M. I do more mixed media than her type of work.

I loved watching how JM uses those stencil brushes. I agree with Patter that you can get a nice technique with makeup sponges, and even with finger dabbers. But the stencil brushes look fun (and expensive).

You can find stencil brushes in with the folk painting/deco painting supplies. They are much cheaper than the ones being advertised for rubber stamping. You can get all sorts of shapes and sizes. I use to do a lot of decorative stencil painting. I love folk art painting. If you are still having trouble finding the brushes you can use an old fashion shaving brush. You can find those at your local drug stores and at times WalMart carries them. I needed one this year and couldn't find it at my local WalMart. Online Dick Blick has stencil brushes always in stock.
