It's in the 90s here, and unbelievably, I'm making soup. I have some ground turkey that I need to use, so I am going to make turkey meatball spinach tortellini soup (it's a Skinnytaste recipe). Dh doesn't want to stand out there and grill, and I don't blame him, and nothing else really sounds all that good to me.
We have a fresh honeydew for dessert.

It's a good day to check this thread! My plans for just about everything have been messed up today, and I currently have no ideas for dinner. We went to nearby "city" for a doctor appt. We could not find anywhere to eat lunch. Why would everyplace be crowded on a Wednesday at lunch? Anyway, we went to a very old restaurant, the first place I ever ate in KY. It was horrible, but slow and noisy. Now we are home. We bought no food, I had considered thawing something to grill, but we're having a huge storm. So I'll add a question to scrapmaven 's list - what should valleyview do for dinner? BTW, it's our anniversary! We joke and say that our wedding night dinner was bad, so it is a tradition. Wishing you a very Happy Anniversary. You could honor tradition and have dinner from the worst restaurant in town or you could make omelettes and celebrate on the weekend. What did you decide to do?

Another question: If my picky eater ds and leannec's dd got married what would they serve at the wedding? Also, would they eat the same dinner every single night for the rest of their lives?

I love how you guys took my story and ran with it. I just thought of something more ... is anyone familiar with the new Volvo commercial, "After the Wedding"? It features a middle aged couple (I think it's supposed to be driving home from their son's wedding) and I think it's lovely even though I don't entirely get it. If you google Volvo Commercial Wedding, you can see it. Anyway, the husband is handsome and romantic, and looks Indian. The wife is blonde and beautiful. I guess I've watched that commercial too many times. Because I just realized, the wife is exactly what scrapmaven looked like in my dream. I guess I'd better lay off the Benadryl at bedtime.

scrapmaven - great questions - I have a couple more. Will Leanne's dds eat the dinner she makes? Will she actually make them a second meal? And who will have the most dishes with their meal on a weeknight? lucyg , what a dream, love it! I am making the chicken with buffalo wing sauce that I never made last p.m. I am not sure what I am serving with it. Lisa I think we all know the answer to that! ha ha Trixie Bender

My 6yo had a play/lunch date with a good friend from school. She got a gift card to Denny's for graduation and she wanted to take him out to lunch They truly are the best of friends! So he ended up eating a late lunch so I'm going for egg salad sandwiches, grapes/sliced apricots and carrot sticks for dinner since he isn't that hungry. Not sure what I will make for myself. Oh well.

If dd had her way pizza and and mashed potatoes would be served She would bake a lot but I doubt she would cook much ... I really need to teach her a few things They would live on cookies

Keep taking the Benadryl. It makes me look gorgeous and my hallucinogenic spouse is probably a mega billionaire who is absolutely gorgeous. I like your drug trips.

Thank you, scrapmaven! We opened a bottle of Prosecco and cooked frozen ravioli. Ice cream for dessert. DH and I have been married forever, and we've experienced some spectacularly bad anniversaries, so we take it all in stride.

Just in case anyone cares, I did have the ice cream for dinner and now I am going to ice cream for dessert. Because, well, because I want to.

My little ate all her dinner and had been hinting about getting ice cream. I'm chilling here and she's all like "I have a real taste for ice cream". Then a few minutes later, " I think if I don't get ice cream I'm gonna die" Lol

And let her stay up late to watch a movie.

Prosecco makes anything taste better (though I already like frozen ravioli)! Love that stuff.

DH requested Chicken and Dumplings. It's so rare that he actually has a request for me that I usually make what he wants. Even if I think it's cool weather food and it's going to be SUPER HOT here. He's also of the opinion chili is any weather food so we'll be having that tomorrow. Does anyone else correlate certain foods to certain seasons? (When I was growing up, my mom would plan dessert first, then the dinner she thought fit with it.) Hot soups are a strictly cold weather dinner here. Of course, since we live in Norway, that might mean we have soup for dinner in June-August, too.
