I know there are iPhone apps where you can listen to your own music while hearing the prompts to walk and run. Are there any where you can listen to podcasts instead? I tried Googling, but it just pulls up podcasts about running.

I use my running watch to do that for me when I want to listen to books while I run. I haven't heard of a run-walk interval program that works with podcasts, but will watch this thread since new apps come out all the time.

I'm using an app called 5K Runner. It will let you listen to anything you can put in a playlist.

I use map my run and I think if you get the podcast going first you would be all set with it.

When I did use an app to tell me to run, I would start my podcast (or book) and then start the app and say "no music". Both apps would be working independently of each other.
If the item is in a playlist, it works easier, but I was too lazy to add the podcast to a playlist.

Can you add a podcast to a playlist? That would solve the problem but I don't know how. Off to Google!

I use walkmeter/run meter and listen to podcast at the same time. I start my podcast then I start my walkmeter. When my running app needs to say something it does so, but it doesn't stop my podcast, it just talks over it. I always do intervals when running so mine always has to talk to me.

Thanks for the tip about turning the podcast on first, it works with the app I downloaded, C2K Free.

I found a few c25k podcasts that have music and prompts that i downloaded then added to my iTunes library. I run with my little shuffle so this was the only solution i found. I just googled to find them and a few different ones came up.
