I work for a school district, so all employees and students have access to our WiFi through our school-issued credentials. We also have a guest network that requires registration for those visiting.

We do, as a construction company. But we need wi-fi to operate and use the Internet as a business. We don't really have walk in customers that need it. But employees using it for personal is okay.

Yes, but it doesn't reach my office. It is for the business's convenience. If we don't have Wifi, we have to provide a way for guests and visitors to connect to their systems. With Wifi, it becomes their own responsibility.

Yes, but it's password protected.
We do give it to any guests in our building though.

Yes - we have one network for employees and a guest network for visitors. Visitors must have an password to access the network and agree to terms of service.

We do have wi-fi in the office but we don't generally have outside customers coming in - wi fi is used only by employees

Yes, we have it for the guests (customers), though employees are allowed to use it also.

No, our computers are all hard wired on a protected, monitored network. If you came into my office with your laptop and plugged it into a network hookup, every phone in this office would start ringing within a very short amount of time. IT would be on the other end asking about the unauthorized computer hooked into the network. If no one is in our building to answer, the network to our office is remotely shut down and our agency management is contacted. Corporate has been really resistant to letting our offices (insurance/financial services industry) have wi-fi in them. There is talk that they will let us have wi-fi soon, but it will be strictly internal use.

I think so...but they are pretty tight lipped about sharing the password. All of our workstations have a wired connection so there's no reason for employees to tap into it, especially since it would be from a personal device. We do offer it to people who are working remotely from our office.

I work for a bank. Some branches do have wifi for guests, but that's the exception not the rule (usually just branches that are older and built like ugly brick fortresses so no one can get cell service inside). Those wifi networks are wholly separate from all bank networks, so cannot be used as a way to get into private information.
We do not use wifi for any internal bank business.

At my old small company there was just a password we freely gave out to visitors. At my new big company you have to register your phone to get wifi. Then they control what you can do on your phone. I can not visit Netflix to update my dvd queue. I can not search for tags on instagram, just view what is in my newsfeed.

We got wifi last year because our director is a tech geek. I think wifi is pretty much becoming essential in many areas, especially with the cost of data plans.
I am so glad we have it at work because I surf a lot, haha!

Yes, but I work in a school.
I don't think you would need it in your building.

yes we have it. no we don't share the password to clients. cell service in the area is strong enough that you don't need our Wi-Fi. if it's not, we don't need you distracted by your cell phone for the short few minutes you are in our office.

Yes, but password protected. Same for us. And it's only one one floor which is the reception/meetings floor. We have a wired network for employees which visitors can't access. I work in a law firm by the way. SaveSave

Yes and it is password protected. We are mostly an online based sales store but we do have a store front for local customers. They are never around long enough to need to use the wifi.

Yes, our hospital has it for patients and employees. I work in a place where I don't get cell service, so it really comes in handy when I have to look up information on my phone. And I work alone for most of my shift, so I stream Pandora through a Bluetooth speaker most nights while I work .

My school has wifi for faculty/staff, and there is a separate guest network on the first floor (where admin offices are located, as well as the reception/waiting area).
At the churches where I work, there is wifi that is only for employees.

Yes, we have wifi. There are only 6 people in our office and we are not open to the general public so it is just the 6 of us that use it. We have regular landline internet connection so we really only use the wifi if we are on our phones during the day which isn't very often.
