Ack! I've looked at that so many times and want it! But it's backwards! The narrow part is the open part. So weird.

I have this punch and I thought it was weird too. I guess the concept is to fold it in half and glue, tape or staple along the small part.

I usually cut mine in half when I use them anyway...so you could just easily not cut all the way up and make the thick part however you like. If you are using it behind photos and such, it shouldn't matter how the tab is punched.

Maybe, but even the picture of it shows it small side up. that's funny! it would never occur to me to use it upside down as kind of a "clip" like that. maybe it confused other people too and that's why it's on clearance.

I was actually so confused by this that I emailed Fiskars about 6 months ago when I found it (yes, I am the *worst* sometimes) and they emailed back and said "Teresa Collins designed this punch to serve as a decorative embellishment, rather than a functional tab. ... Teresa has a very “chunky,” messy, mixed media style, so she likes to staple this shape to her projects to add an extra decorative effect." And they attached this photo. Erm? What? Attachments:

I think it looks like half of a Ford sign. I'd still use if I owned it though.

There's no way they can convince me that they didn't make it wrong. That or the package designer didn't get the memo because the illustration totally looks like it opens on the bottom wider part!

I like that it's different & may also be used like a geometric shape; hope the local store has it in stock (& on clearance) tomorrow. TFS

It's weird. No wonder it's on clearance. I bought the WRMK tab punch. I love it, but it's so BIG! The tool is big, I mean, not the tab.

When you go check the price on the scanner. It might be marked higher price. My store didn't have that punch, but I did get the 8x 11 pink stencils (3 designs in pack) for 97 cents - they were marked clearance 1.97. At 1.97 I was going to get the 2 I liked most. At 97 cents I took all 5 different packs. I think those were about 8 bucks before.

The tool is big, I mean, not the tab. i have two of those WRMK tab punched and i don't use them much at all. i much prefer my McGill tab punches and the Stampin' Up Rounded Tab punch. i also have a Fiskars tab punch that's the same squeeze style as the Teresa Collins one and i use that a lot too.

I always thought it looked like a Chevy sign...never could figure out what it was for, but I can now see where folding it in half could pass for a tab. I doubt that I would, personally, buy it but if it's one you're looking for, $1.97 is a great price!

Just fold the paper before you put it in the punch, be sure the fold isn't under the punching mechanism, and voila, a beautiful little folded tab.

OK - you are brilliant. I never thought of that! I usually just use it as is and place it along the top of a photo to add the date or as a base for a few little embellishments.

Aw schucks, ma'am. :*) You have to cut the paper if you use it the folded way because it has to fit between the hinge and the tab punch, but it's still a good way to get a folded piece if I'm working w/scraps or narrow papers.

I agree with above, that TC punch is odd. I have the old McGill tab punch from Archivers I just "had" to have, and probably only used it 8 times.
