Ok - so this must win the dumb question of the month award. But - I know I am doing something wrong here, so all of you experienced cardmakers pleases help me out. I have been happily experimenting doing card "panels" for the outside of layered cards using the MISTI stamping tool. Lots of fun and lots of successes (along with some user made errors. ha) But - I can not master making the inside of cards using the Misti. When I open the card to stamp directly on the card, of course the card when open is too large. But if I fold the card front back - to make it small enough to fit the Misti opening - (made with card-base weight card stock) it doesn't lay nice and flat like a single layer. The folded-back card doesn't want to stay flat even with magnets. Sigh - Am I making any sense? In a nutshell: I'd like the card to lay flat and snug against the bottom of the Misti, but the card is too long when open or too bulky if folded back. How do *you* position a card to do the inside of a card or do you just 'free-hand' stamp the inside? Or are you all making layers for inside of the card? Any help will be so appreciated for the card making dummy. LOL

I made my own. www.scrapbook.com/galleries/155177/view/5303943/-1/0/0.html What I do is lay the card open with the card front out side the tool. I use "artist tape" to secure the paper to the tool and stamp. If doing multiples, the tape can be used over and over. I suggest you deal with the inside before decorating the outside. Just play with different techniques ... it's just paper. Use scraps or printer paper. Just play, get messy, it's a hobby. When I use dark colored cardstock, cut paper insert pieces and tape to the inside of the card. You could either stamp or print your message.

I have the regular sized stampaholic. I just open the card base and let the "top" of the card hang out the front (the opened end of the tool) and the section I want to stamp the sentiment on (the bottom inside) is facing away from me (toward the hinge side of the tool). I anchor the card base down with magnets, and position the stamp facing away from me. It works. You just have to remember that you need to put your stamp facing away from you.

Thanks! I'll give those techniques a try. Folding it under just doesn't work well for me, but I'll try what you both suggested.
I was contemplating buying the larger other brand stamping tool, but the price tag is making me hesitate until I try other options.
Thanks again,
