I would adore a pantry. When I lived in the us, our apartment and our house both had a floor to ceiling cupboard. It was fab. Great for keeping the large kitchen gadgets in aswell as food. I have one standard kitchen cupboard that stores all my packets and cans, and another one for spices, herbs and bottles. The things have multiple of our canned tomatoes and canned pilchards.

I had no idea salmon came in cans. Do you use it like you would tuna in packets? We have tons of different varieties of flour. Do you get tuna in a plastic package? Like you get shredded cheese or something? We get cans. I haven't seen it any other way. Tuna comes in foil soft-packs too. They look like this:

Cereal, bread (hot dog and hamburger buns, white bread, tortillas, bagels, Texas toast), chips,
It's a mess. I need to clean it out.

this is my little pantry: Your "little" pantry looks exactly like mine (size wise anyway). I forgot to add we may or may not have a few cans of soda pop on the floor.

We used to get cans.

For some reason I have enough nutmeg to last well into the next century.

I would love a pantry. I use several kitchen cabinets and just hate using the bottom cabinets. Maybe next time.

They look like this: Same product in a can. That is a nice price for it, too! It has gone up a lot out west. Can you recycle the package? ETA it also saves my left hand from having to fight a can opener.

AussieMeg , I think this is going to sound rude but I am genuinely curious- what is that thing that looks like a toilet in your pantry? Haha it does look like a toilet doesn't it!! It's the recycling bin. I thought maybe you called the fridge a pantry. Some of those things you listed we keep in the fridge once opened. Yes the age old debate about whether to store your sauce in the fridge or pantry..... The bottle says to store it in the fridge after opening but habits of a lifetime are hard to break.

My pantry is similar to yours but a bit deeper and wider. I have an upright freezer in mine as well. I love it and there is heaps of room hit my dream kitchen would have a large butlers pantry with sink where I could have the food processor, juicer etc all sitting out.
My find today is 4 full containers of Bicarb soda, what the heck? I was making sticky date pudding for Manrie's birthday dessert and wanted to see if I needed to buy any...
