Many, many years ago Family Feud came to our town. My family auditioned and were placed against a high-profile winery family. Guess who was chosen, yep the other family! It was fun though!

I tried out for Wheel of Fortune about 25 years ago. They came to San Francisco so I auditioned. I still have my pencil that says I Tried Out for Wheel of Fortune.
We went into the ballroom at the Westin on Union Square. They gave us a sheet with about 10 puzzles and you had to solve a certain number (I think 6) in a VERY short period of time. If you did so, you moved on to round two. I moved on.
Now remember, this was 25 years ago so there might have been a round two that I don't recall. I just remember getting to the next round which was a mock game.
In the mock game round, we actually played a game with the wheel! We introduced ourselves then played and jumped up and down just like they do on the show.
From the many hundreds of people who tried out, they selected ONE OR TWO! The guy they selected from our group was a total turd with the personality of dryer lint. He might have been the production assistant's cousin or something.
Anyway, this is where it gets good: Mr. Turd ended up being on the show with one of my best friends! So, if they had picked me instead, we would have been contestants together. How bizarre is that?
ETA: forgot to mention that my friends won it all and Mr. Turd got nothing!

Does it count that I was picked from the audience to come down in the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire game at Disney's Hollywood Studios? I won pins and a hat. Did not win the cruise. ?

Yup...
I have been on two- Win Ben Stein's Money (I won his money.) And I was also on Russian Roulette (a GSN show) and won $12,600.
I auditioned for Jeopardy and didn't make it. Jeopardy audition is HARD, fyi.

I was on Scrabble Teen Week with Chuck Woolery. I won $500 and met a boy . Not sure which was the better prize.

Dh's family was on Family Feud when he was about 16. Ray Combs was the host. They lost on their first game. I caught it once on GSN. The question they lost on was, "What's another way to say coffee?" He thought they said 'coughing' .

I tried out for Teen Jeopardy when I was like 13 or 14, but didn't make it onto the show. I remember it being really hard (and I was "smart", lol). SaveSave

I tried out for Jeopardy about 15 years ago. The other poster wasn't joking - it was hard! Obviously I didn't make it.
I would try again though my kids want me to try out for Wheel of Fortune lol

I went to a taping of Let's Make a Deal with a bunch of people from work. Didn't make it into the contestant section though. The people that did were hard core, in your face, with the people giving out those seat tickets. It was crazy!

I tried out for Super Market Sweep and Who wants to be a Millionaire. Did not make it on to either. OMG! I would have LOVED to be on Super (pause) Market (pause) SWEEP! In college, we'd all rush back to the dorm to watch General Hospital and then Super Market Sweep.

In college, we'd all rush back to the dorm to watch General Hospital and then Super Market Sweep. My mom used to watch General Hospital and then I'd watch Super Market Sweep. I think somebody else did a similar show in the 80s because I was really little when my mom still watched General Hospital... To entertain myself while my mom would grocery shop, I would plan what I would fill my cart with--the hams, any meats, and the imported canned seafoods obviously... I thought that the people that didn't fill their carts with those $40 canned hams and imported foods were nuts. Why did so many people waste time on the canned food aisle. My mom was once in the audience for The Price is Right back in the 60s. She said that a lot of the people that were called down knew people in the crew.

A friend of ours from high school band was on The Price is Right while she was in college. She won the showcase which included a PT Cruiser. She ended up selling it and realized later that it totally screwed up her college financial aid.

I haven't but my nephew was on Who Wants to be a Millionaire last year and won $20,000. I tape Price is Right every day and DH and I watch while eating dinner and guess the showcase. Whoever wins the most showcases for the week has to make dinner on Saturday and Sunday. My dream is to go on Price is Right.

My friend was on Jeopardy. He won $7500, but I don't remember what place he came in. He can't wait for Alex Trebeck to retire so he can try out again.

My sister was on Merv Griffin's Crosswords. She's really good a crossword puzzles, but didn't do well on the show. So, no one knew she was on it until much later. She only told me, because she didn't want the watch that they gave contestants as a consolation prize and I love retro tv watches.

She must not have won anything because all I remember is a case of Rice a Roni!

Thought of another one. Our next door neighbor when we lived in NOLA in the 60's was on Password with host Allen Ludden. His partner was Carol Channing and they did awful. She was as ditsy as she acts.

I didn't formally try out for jeopardy but too get tickets you had to play a round and the winner got a t shirt and everyone got tickets. It is hard to buzz in at the right time!

I had a friend in high school that ended up being on jeopardy when he was in law school. I think he won two days in a row. I can't remember. I do remember hearing this story: he had to miss his first week of law school to be on the show. He went to an Ivy League law school – either Yale or Harvard. (He was super smart). When he got back to law school, one of his professors grilled him the first day (like in all the movies). He answered what he thought was a correct answer and the professor yelled NO! And then the whole class yelled, "You didn't answer in the form of a question!"
The weird things I remember...

I was on Tic Tac Dough with Wink Martindale in 1983. I won one game, and lost the second. I won a trip to France and a trip to New Orleans. It was so much fun! I auditioned for Joker's Wild a year earlier, and made the cut, but they ran out of shows to tape before they ran out of contestants, so as soon as I was eligible I auditioned for Tic Tac Dough.
