I think northern IN has the best local grown produce...corn on the cob, strawberries, peaches, tomatoes, cucumbers, cherries.

My absolute favourite is BC cherries and they are early this year so I hope I haven't missed them!

I guess out of the things people have mentioned here I would say watermelon and pumpkin. But I buy them all year round, not just when they're in season. I bought watermelon, pumpkin and strawberries yesterday even though it's winter here. They taste just as good.
The only thing I don't buy unless it's in season is cherries. During winter we can get cherries that are imported from the US but they are crazy expensive.

Summer season: strawberries, watermelon, and corn on the cob.
Christmas season: mincemeat pie (yes, I know I could make it anytime of the year but I don't).

Asparagus, especially white asparagus, which is not just seasonal but grown locally. From late April until late June it is everywhere and restaurants here have special 'asparagus menus'. Cherries are just coming in, as well as berries, so they are next up. We can get some berries year round, but local strawberries and raspberries are in season now and are really good.

Thanksgiving food. Turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, jellied cranberry and pumpkin pie. This stuff tastes extra special at Thanksgiving.

Mmmmm, forgot about eggnog. I limit myself to buying one quart per year, at Christmastime. Otherwise, I'd make myself sick. I drink mine non-alcoholic.

my favorite?.. Tomatoes in the summer, hands down.
2nd favorite?.. grilled burger with fresh tomato slice(s) on it.
I love Thanksgiving dinner too,but part of it is that its THANKSGIVING ya know? what little family I have around.but thats more about the environment moreso than any certain food.

Cabbage rolls at 'Christmas'. I still make them with my family and still eat them on the 25th with my dad and son. I love them. They are so Ukrainian at that time of year.
