Did y'all see this? Apparently Rep. Marino (R) from Pennsylvania struck a nerve with Pelosi when he commented on the Floor that she and the Dems had 2 years to fix the immigration issue when they controlled both houses. She came after him twice, once while he was speaking and then when he finished. She had to be reprimanded by the chair to come to order. And then her spokeswoman said she accepted Marino's apology, when in fact, Marino did not apologize. She actually owes him an apology after calling him an insignificant person. What a piece of work she is. ETA: Here's a video.

And this surprises you? Seriously she is an embarrassment. People say Republicans are out-of-touch. Pelosi doesn't have a clue.

Good for Congresswoman Pelosi!
I would like to point out The President has been asking for a new immigration bill, one that will be enforced, for the last couple of years at least. The Senate has passed one and the Republican House, which they controlled for what the last 4 years, has done absolutely nothing. Oh wait a minute, I take that back, they have wasted taxpayer money trying to repeal ACA what 50 times and they didn't even offer a solid replacement.
No the real " piece of work" is the do nothing always say no Republican Leadership in Congress!

Yes. It is all over Facebook too.
Not a fan of Pelosi because I don't share her political ideology. That being said, this is why I believe that we need term limits. There are too many old men and women in Congress who are way past their expiration date. When they speak, they no longer make sense and are an embarrassment.

Uh, this really isn't about what political side you're on. It's about Pelosi's appalling lack of decorum on the House floor when she knows better.

poor thing, she's beyond her pull date. I can just see that pompous little ass pursing her lips and calling a house colleague an "insignificant person"

What about of appalling behavior of the Republicans in the House? What appalling behavior? Representing their constituents, the people who elected them? Are you really saying that you support Pelosi breaking several procedural rules meant to make our legislatures function in an orderly fashion simply because you disagree with how the other party votes? You'd be perfectly okay with Senate Republicans behaving in the same manner toward Harry Reid or another Senate Democrat whom the Republicans might view as obstructionist?

she was wagging her finger at him the whole time she was chasing him... what a case she is. Along with Reid. those 2 make some pair!
her words don't make sense most of the time and his are fantasy (and nasty) and hard to understand (does he mumble? or should I have my ears checked?)

Oh, I don't know...
Calling the President of the United States a liar during a state of the union address? Pledging to not pass any single piece of legislation the President and his party proposed? Bringing a frivolous lawsuit which basically countermands the nearly continuous attempts to repeal the ACA?
There's certainly no monopoly on lack of decorum or appalling behavior in the House or Senate floor these days. It should embarrass both parties. It's why they're polling at near single digit approval rates.

Let me explain it to you folks on why I'm ok with what Congresswoman Pelosi did.
There is a mess at the border that needs to be dealt with NOW. The President has been asking for a bill for the last couple of years. The Senate has passed one. What has the Republican controlled House done? First just days before the break for the summer they had a bill that Boehner couldn't bring to the floor because he didn't HAVE enough of his own party to pass it he had to pull it and came back with a mean spirited bill just to get his own party to pass it.
With all this crap going this dimwit Republican makes the comment that the Democrats had 2 years to solve this problem. Really. What have the Republicans done for the last 4 years. I don't blame Congresswoman Pelosi one bit for saying what she said.
Note I don't expect both sides to get everything they want but BOTH sides need to show up and so far only one side has and it's not the Republicans.
So decorum be damned.

They're all out of control.
Pelosi's behavior was appalling. So was Joe Wilson's shouting spree back in 2009.
They all need to go.

You really shouldn't excuse these kind of childish histrionics, just because of the letter after the politician's name. They ALL need to act like adults that have even a microscopic amount of sense. If it wasn't ok for Wilson to do what he did, it's not ok for Pelosi to do what she did. It's hypocritical to claim that she is more justified than he was. They all need to go. Every single sitting Congressperson needs to be voted out. They've all contributed to this mess, and they all need to go. They count on the sheeples who will vote based on those little letters. Nothing's going to change until people wise up and quit letting politicians and pundits do their thinking for them.

cadoodle, they did pass two bills last night. The Senate and president have already vowed NOT to let it move forward, so the Senate left town. But it's the Republicans who aren't showing up?

The House has passed over 350+ bills that Harry Reid won't even let on the Senate floor.
So it's BS that the Republicans in the House are the only ones being obstructionists.
And Nancy Pelosi's behavior was simply deplorable.
Krazy, you don't believe that I would ever give the President the benefit of the doubt, but you're applauding this kind of behavior? What will it take for you to ever believe that someone from your party has done wrong?
And by the way, Krazy, I enjoyed seeing the President on TV today. He was getting a hug from Tim, who has Down's Syndrome and is the inspiring owner of Tim's Place, a restaurant in Albuquerque. Seeing the genuine pleasure on the President's face while getting a hug from Tim was cool.

And Michele Bachmann was rebuked yesterday by the chair for being disrespectful toward the president.Really, SSDD. I don't see anyone complaining about Bachmann, and yes, then there was that unprecedented behavior by Joe Wilson a few years ago. I like Nancy Pelosi. I don't agree with everything she says and does, but considering the boorish behavior of many Republicans in Congress these days, I really don't understand the complaints. And please remember that we do have term limits. They're called elections. If the voters in Nancy Pelosi's district want to send her back to Congress, why would it be anyone else's business?

Wait a minute? So the Senate (Dem) and President have already vowed to NOT let it move forward? But krazy can only focus on the obstructionist Republicans.
Isn't that ironic?
Another reason why I'm not at all surprised that krazy loves Nancy Pelosi. Nancy Pelosi is freaking nuts...and this is not new news.
Edited to add...NO ONE in DC is able to work together. Why is it the fault of the Republicans? DC is BROKEN. The Democrats are no better or worse than the Republicans. I do miss the days of WJC who was able to work across the aisle. Frankly, I'm not sure we're ever going to get back there as a nation.

lucyg, what Bachmann said violated House procedural rules, and she should have been reprimanded for it. I happen to agree with her sentiments, but the rules are there for a reason - to maintain some civility. Both parties, even former speakers, need to abide by procedure. When we start excusing one person's behavior because we agree with their politics, we're opening the door for some pretty nasty business.
Pelosi calling a member of the House insignificant also bears some discussion. She can't treat people as if they're beneath her and expect any kind of bipartisanship in the future. Inflammatory language like that has no place on the floor, and she should know better.
Maybe if we started demanding better, we'd get it.

Luc, I don't like Michelle Bachmann, so I generally don't pay much attention to news about her. I hadn't heard that, but she was wrong to say that on the House floor, and I'm glad she was rebuked for it.
GaJenny, I completely agree. Having Pres. Obama as Pres. makes me appreciate Pres. WJC's willingness to reach across the aisle & work with Republicans during his tenure in office for the good of our country. I have a lot more respect for him now than I did then.

What about of appalling behavior of the Republicans in the House? You mean the appalling behavior of writing and voting on bills that Reid won't allow past his desk? Sooooo appalling. Be specific or else you're just throwing around the SSDD. If the President had really felt immigration was important, he would've submitted his own bill and raced it through Congress (likely before anyone had a chance to read it all) and now he'd be using executive order to make changes to his own law. Because that's how this president gets his agenda done. Pelosi is a nut. Cannot believe Ms. Letspassthisbillsowecanseewhat'sinit is still representing anyone in DC.
