I have an older Fire, 3 or 4 years now, and it has been giving me issues that charging unless it is upside down....
There is a sale on, I think someone had posted but TapaTalk on my IPhone won't let me search this forum. Should I go with the Fire or the Paperwhite?
I use it primarily for reading or Pinterest. I read at night and love that I can make it dimmer to reduce the glare on dh. I wish I could dim it even more.
I rarely read outside, though I might if I had the Paperwhite. We have prime unlimited and I always have my 10 borrowed books. I haven't try to borrow books from the library as I was once able to get the overdrive thing to work.
Dh has an IPad & I still have a laptop, though I use my phone for everything but reading.
Thanks!

I have the paperwhite. I love it. It's also very easy to borrow books from the library with it. I do read outside quite often. I also have a nook simple touch. I like it too, but seem to be using the kindle more often.

The Paperwhite is the best I've found so far. You are able to read in the sun and it also has a light for reading at night. The only thing I wish it was a little bigger, but really that isn't a big deal.

When I'm ready to upgrade my old Kindle keyboard I'm going to go with the Paperwhite.

Do you read in bed? Is it dim enough? It's perfect for that.

If you're wanting to use the device for browsing Pinterest, you probably don't want the Paperwhite. First of all, the Paperwhite is only black and white and the internet is super clunky. It's really only meant for browsing books not Pinteresting. If you really want to use the internet, I would get another Fire. I have the Paperwhite and I love it! But I only use it for reading. I don't even browse books on it because I think it's a pain. When I'm looking for a book I go to my desktop or use the Kindle app on my iphone to download and it will automatically sync to my Paperwhite. Using it for the internet is just a pain, IMO. I really do love that I can adjust the brightness of the back light for when I'm indoors, outside in the sun or reading in the dark but if i wanted to browse Pinterest I wouldn't bother with the Paperwhite.
