The last movie I saw that scared me was Saw something. Saw 3 maybe? I also saw Candyman and that scared the heck out of me, too.
She wants me to try Final Destination and Convergence so I will be caught up when "we" go see the new one in theatres now.
Is this going to mess with my head? Will I be really freaked out? Will I be entertained? Does it stick with you after you see it? The 3 of us are supposed to go see it. She enjoyed it enough the first time she wants to see it again. Our other friend who went slept through it. (she was really tired-don't ask me. I don't know) and then there will be me. Do I need to bring earphones? A pillow? What am I getting myself into?

I really dislike horror movies, so I would not go, ever.

I don't understand wanting to be deliberately frightened but there you go Only you can know whether it'll unsettle you or not. You've seen them before so how did you feel then?

Sorry J I can't go to the movies I'm washing my hair/making a cheese sculpture/looking at pictures of the Hoff on the internet. You're a big girl, just tell her no.

I'm a horror movie lover. It's killing me that I haven't made it to see The Conjuring 2 yet! But I'm confused, what movie do they want you to see? Final Destination and Convergence aren't related movies.

Final Destination and Convergence aren't related movies. It took a lot for me to agree to consider it. J thought Final Destination was a good one to go with as well as Conjuring. Both of them have really wanted me to start going with them to see this genre. I was a horror movie junkie as a teen. We loved to watch them or see them. Maybe I can get into them again.

I used to love horror movies but for some reason once I started having kids something changed and I cannot watch even part of one anymore. Even if I've seen it before. My oldest loves them.

No way.
Not gonna say I actually *watched* one, because I was hiding behind the couch curled up in a ball with my ears covered the whole time, but even that really affected me emotionally/mentally. I was traumatized & had nightmares for a very long time. There are a lot of TV shows I won't watch for the same reason (have to leave the room during commercials for them sometimes too).

I used to like them when I was younger, but as I've gotten older they've really lost their appeal. I guess once I realized that the real horror story is the nightly 10:00 pm news, I didn't need to see any of the made up horror anymore. Real life is scary enough.

They never scare me at all. I watched a lot of them when I was a kid, maybe that's why I don't find them at all frightening now.
Except Dawn of the Dead, the more recent one with the fast zombies. It starts in a hospital. Eeek!

Same here!!! When I was a teen/young adult my brother and I loved watching them! Even while dating DH and after we got married. Had kids and FORGET IT! The closest I come to watching them now is TWD. I can handle that - actually love that show! But true horror movies, no way!

Scary movies aren't so bad. Movies that are marketed as horror movies just to be able to spew blood and guts all over aren't that scary to me. I don't like to watch those.
I really think it is up to you to know whether you want to sit through one or not.

I had to stop reading horror novels for this very reason. I'd read before going to bed and then I'd have dreams about ghosts, etc. I still do love watching horror movies, but not the slasher type ones. One movie that still creeps me out is 30 Days of Night. World War Z was pretty good too. If you haven't seen them yet, a couple of older movies that are scary, but with interesting twists are The Others and The Sixth Sense.

I have issues with anxiety and choose not to watch horror movies. I think you would be doing yourself a disservice if you went. I absolutely retain what I put into my mind. See a comedy and if you can't, just meet them before or after for dinner.

Whenever I have to question if something will mess with my head I err on the side or caution.

Do what you want.... don't go to a movie that you don't want to see because your friend wants you too.
That sounds very middle school.
