We will be going to the CWS Baseball championship games at the end of the month. One of the days we will be in Nebraska will be my DS's 15th birthday. He loves steak, so we were thinking we would take him out in Omaha, but then I wondered if I was being short sighted in meal selection.
What is your favorite place to eat in Omaha or Lincoln?

I like Roja, Blue Sushi, Shucks Fish House, and I was going to suggest M's Pub but it burned down last winter

We used to eat at Spaghetti Works when we lived in Omaha.

When we were in Omaha last month, we went to the Old Market District and there were a lot of restaurants there - I think we saw several steak places. I don't remember where we ate - we had good sandwiches and salads for lunch

Well if you like pizza, you should go to the original Valentino's in Lincoln. And Taco Inn is local to Lincoln also. I love their flour chips! (We don't eat very fancy!) Oh and there's Misty's. The original one is in Havelock in Lincoln. Pretty good steaks!

When I visit my sister we often go to Upstream Brewery in the old market.

I didn't know there were other Valentino's out there.

Spencer's at Hilton Garden Inn has great steak. Highly recommend. It's on the corner of 10th and Dodge.

For steak, Brother Sebastians, The Drover or the Chophouse.
I love Upsteam.
In Lincoln, Laslows in the Haymarket District.

For Mexican, I prefer Stokes to Roja. I love Roja for appetizers and drinks, but I think Stokes has better food and more options.

Upstream, Roja, Old Mattress Factory
If you get out west, go to Oscar's and get the char buffed wings. The best!!! Their pizza is good too. We moved from Omaha four years ago, and Oscar's is the place I miss most.

It is an acquired taste that is filled with grease. Delicious grease. I got engaged at Misty's!

In all the years we lived there, we never could get into the Runza thing. We went there when we were house hunting before we moved there and that was the only time- locals love it though!
I also really like Spezia Italian. My husband had my birthday party there one year. Delicious!

My boss has been going to Spezia's for lunch lately. In the 10 years we've lived here I still haven't gone. It's never on my radar.

I live in Lincoln and agree with everything posted above! In addition, there's Nicola's in Omaha for AWESOME Italian. Best pasta I've ever had. There's also a fun burger place/bar in downtown Omaha called Omaha Tap House. They have really unique burgers.

The Valentino's in Bellevue NE was where we always had soccer banquets and class parties. So good.
