The Strawberry Moon is a full moon that falls on the Summer Solstice. The last one was in 1967 and next one won't happen until 2062. This isn't my image, just borrowed from Yahoo and this article. The moon is just coming up over the horizon here and it is gorgeous.

I ran outside and checked my moon....looks normal to me? So maybe I need a telescope to see the difference?

Argh! The last few nights we've been able to see the moon quite well, but of course tonight, it's cloudy and stormy! TFS though!

Looks normal to me. Maybe I caught it too late.

Someone said it was red so I went out to look and it was normal.

Too overcast here to see the moon but we did get some lightening that had a pinkish cast. It was kinda cool.

That's AMAZING!! I thought it was from all the fires here! I didn't put two together with the Solstice! The air is super thick and over cast here so they've been saying not to go outside if you don't have to - not to mention it was 116* today but that was down from the 120 yesterday! but your pic is just beautiful I can barely see our moon now it's too overcast or hazy.

I looked at the moon earlier but wasn't that red. Reminded me more of a harvest moon as it looked more orange than red.

It's bright here, but not red.

I did not see the actual strawberry moon, but as I was closing up our sun porch last night around 9:30, I noticed that the low clouds were extremely and beautifully pink! I had no idea why at the time, but this must be the reason.

Strawberry moon is called such because it's thought to be the best time to harvest strawberries according to the Farmer's Almanac (although it's way too late for strawberry harvest here - our farmer's market ran out 2 weeks ago). The moon WAS gorgeous last night, but it was "moon colored" at my house.

I found the moon extremely bright to look at last night, but otherwise nothing different.

The strawberry moon is not red or pink.... any moon may appear red or pink depending on atmospheric conditions. A strawberry moon is simply a full moon in June. This year it falls on the solstice

I was up until 11pm but the moon wasn't up yet, the sun was barely gone. So I went to bed. I see the moon all winter, LOL! I probably could have seen it on the horizon but it wasn't over the neighbours house yet. It's a couple weeks to early for strawberries here, mmm can't wait.
