Maybe just allow page protectors, adhesive, and photo printing.
I haven't spent "too much" but maybe more than usual (thanks for enabling me on the Nuvo drops. They should be delivered this week).
I feel like maybe I should make a dent in my supplies.
Maybe by December Daily time I will feel justified in buying new goodies again.
Anyone else need to step back from the buying?

Definitely could use a spending pause! Now that I've cancelled my kits, I feel like I have so much money to blow on a la carte stuff. But in truth, I have plenty of supplies and could just keep my money in my pocket! That being said... brb off to buy a big shot!

Same here. I've become a regular at Tuesday Morning, then the big spend at scrapbook convention and an order from AWDML. Yep indeed a freeze.

But in truth, I have plenty of supplies and could just keep my money in my pocket! That being said... brb off to buy a big shot!LOL!! That sounds like me! I could certainly use a spending freeze as well but with just getting back into scrapping after a few years it's hard not to buy new things! I do NOT need another thing and I will never ever use my stash as long as I live but new things are so fun! This board hasn't helped me either, lol!

I too could scrap happy for several months--maybe years--with nothing new except for photos and glue, but where would be the fun in THAT???
I tend to go through phases where I use lots of older products from my stash, and then times when I ignore it completely and use only the new shiny things. I love when old and new work together, and often it is the new acquisition that will give me the urge to go through the older treasures.
So I don't see myself imposing a scrappy spending freeze any time soon. And SOMEBODY has to keep our LSS in business! Not to mention the scrapbook manufacturing industry!

I should definitely stop spending for a while and start scrapping with the time I'm spending online looking at the daily deal sites and other scrapbook sites. I need to work on making better use of my time.

I feel strongly I should step back from buying supplies, but I am heading to Scrapbook Expo on Thursday and CKC in July. I do have a prepaid Visa I will be using to cut down on my spending.

I am not on a freeze, but I am much better at looking at those sites and asking myself if I don't have paper that has the same colors or theme already. I have paper in three different areas of my house (and I have a scrapbook room), so I probably already have something similar.

I'm not on a freeze (just bought a Stampoholic stamp tool!) but I am getting better at not just buying new collections of paper, embellishments etc or things which just aren't my style. And I am in the process of doing a lot of scrapping (old photos from the 90s) and using kits and my paper stash up. If I can make a dent in things, I might try out a Hip Kit sub later in the year.

I am basically on a freeze and trying not to buy anything for the rest of the year. But seriously thinking of looking into Hip Kits in the fall. Not subbing but buying one here and there.

I have paper in three different areas of my house (and I have a scrapbook room), so I probably already have something similar. This is a good point. Recently I was looking at MME My Story on one of the daily deal sites. I thought it looked a little too much like On Trend 2, which I have, and decided not to buy it. Later that day I started looking through paper to match up with pictures and found a My Story 6x6 paper pad, wood veneers, ephemera pack, and rub-ons. So on top of asking myself if I have something similar I need to ask myself if I've already bought what I'm looking at and forgot about it. I really, really need to start using what I have instead of buying more.

I need to break from shopping and make a dent in my stash again, too. My room is full!

I haven't officially put myself on a spending freeze. I am more conscientious about my spending and what I buy. Because I'm so organized, if I have no more room for a certain item because that storage is full, I can't buy it until I can make room for it. I don't always jump on the bandwagon of enabling that can happen on a scrapbook message board. I don't buy warehouse boxes any more either.

Add me to the list but I have two orders from Joann coming soon and I have bought more than I need lately. I also really want to buy a new alpha die set. They are screaming at me. I have been tempted by the Nuvo drops but have resisted so far.
I am a CTMH consultant and can buy new stuff July 1 and figure I will end up buying something and hope it's a good catalog but at the same time I don't want to be tempted. I tried to buy a paper pad today at Michaels but they were out of the one I wanted so I left with a single sheet of vellum.
I think I have enough stuff to scrap for a very long time with out running out of paper or adhesive. I will need albums and page protectors though.

I've had three scrappy shopping outings in the past month (TM then TM/Joanns/Michaels and then Hobby Lobby) and my paper shelves are looking full again. So I'm on a break until I've used some of it up
[in my defense - I did scrap a ton in May and have done about as well in June so far - so I AM using stuff but the dent I made has been re-filled and it's time to make another dent]

I was totally going to put myself on a freeze in April. Yeah, that didn't work for me. I just subscribed to Hip Kits and hope to limit my spending to it. Of course, tomorrow I'll be going to HL. But I should definitely chill out.

I had to step back from shopping. I'm not on a freeze but have been spending a lot less on crafting stuff. I'm trying to use up what I have and trying really hard just to buy adhesives and get my pictures printed. It's not always easy, there's times when I just have to click on that buy button

Anyone else need to step back from the buying? Just every time I clean my scraproom And I don't spend nearly what I used to spend. But I do still shop more then I should. I was looking at the My Favorite Things card kit yesterday and had to talk myself out of it. I have similar stamps and dies, I have Hero Arts mini ink pads and plenty of colored cardstock. But I STILL want it <sigh> I'm trying to be more thoughtful in my purchases. And I am, to a point. But I still have a ways to go.

My dear neighbor passed away in January. Her husband did not touch a thing for five months and now he is moving to a new house in the country, He is moving every single thing that filled their four bedroom home. She had every single wall in that house filled with greenery and knick knacks. We helped him move for several days and it has really made me look at my house and has encouraged me to declutter my closets and cabinets. I used to do it every summer, but have gotten lazy the last few years. If someone had to clean out my scrap crap (as my boys call it), I can just imagine what they would say about me.

I say that every time I organize my stuff and actually look at what I have! Brand new, entire collections, that haven't been touched!! I say damn, I've got so much crap, I need to stop shopping and use what I have.
But then I get bored, and I start looking at online sites, or read a thread here and it sends me on a buying frenzy! And I seem to shop more when I don't have a lot of time to scrap, cause shopping can be done anywhere from my phone! At the Dr's office, at my MIL's, anywhere! It's like getting my scrapbooking fix without actually scrapbooking!

I haven't done too badly this month. I did get 2 planners last month and they are awesome. I ordered them and paid for them in May. I did buy a bit of planner stuff on What's New Wednesday and that was fun. Saturday is the mystery kit so I am kind of excited about it. Ok a lot bit excited about it. I can't wait to see if I love it. I did get a planner charm made for me and it should be here soon!

I need to stop buying and stop looking. I've bought probably $1000 retail worth of stuff for less than $200 in the last 2 months. I need to use my stuff. Period. I'm out of control!
