Lemme just say, my Nuvo drops were delivered today, and I played for about twenty minutes before work. I love these things.
And they do work on top of Prisma colored pieces.
So, all the scrappers who bought Nuvo drops to make our own enamel dots, are you going to buy premade enamel dots anymore?
I would really, really like to say that I will not, but I'm not sure of it.
I do know that I am still more inclined to buy enamel shapes like music notes or intricate things, because I like how polished manufactured enamel shapes look.
Nuvo drops really are something special though. I outlined things, and made numerous dots of different sizes. It all looks so good. They really are pretty fool-proof.

I haven't bought the NUVO yet but plan to... It's colour range that will kill me. I really like the match colours, and the nuvo range isn't that great yet.

I will probably buy the ones that match pp collections for the colours, or the shaped ones.
There is something to be said for a little extra you can just glue and go. Drying time is not something I always have time and patience for

This is a great question because I've been on the fence ever since seeing this thread from @northrigg. I have them in a shopping cart but I still haven't purchased them yet. I keep asking myself... 1. Do I really have the time to make these? 2. Do I have the patience to wait for them to dry when my scrappy time is already limited? 3. Am I still going to be buying pre-made enamel dots when I see them on sale? 4. If I buy the Nuvo drops will I use them a few times and then have them sit in a drawer somewhere? Idk. I am feeling wishy-washy about it. I like the idea of just peeling them off the paper and slapping them down, lol. I may or may not be indecisive!

I like the idea of just peeling them off the paper and slapping them down, I will say that I tried making a heart, and the perfectionist in me didn't like the way it came out and I felt frustrated that I had wasted some of my precious time. But I really, really like the drops for small enamel dots. I find it much easier to just make the dots on the layout than to make them on the plastic sheet, wait for them to dry, and the peel and glue them down. I made a couple really small dots and found my clumsy fingers had trouble picking them up. But when I just make the dots right on the layout, perfection. And no worries about running out of a certain size or color, either. Very liberating for a scrapper like me, who likes using dozens of enamel dots per layout.

I love my Nuvo drops ( and already contacted the company about making more colors in the gloss finish ), but I can see myself buying enamel dots if the colors are yummy. I'm drawn to shades that aren't available in Nuvo yet.

I haven't got in the make your own enamel dots bandwagon yet for a few reasons I have a shit load of premade ones to use up and secondly don't have time for scrapping let alone waiting for drops to dry or bake.
I might buy a few colors of drops I can't seem to find in enamel dots such as navy blue, black and brown but otherwise I will stick to buying them!

I love my Nuvo drops and so glad I came across the thread here! I've been making dots right on my layouts and they dry smoothly and quickly. I may buy enamel dots if they match a collection, but I bought Nuvos in all my favorite colors, so I probably won't need to buy dots, I'm guessing!

I haven't got in the make your own enamel dots bandwagon yet for a few reasons I have a shit load of premade ones to use up I've been making an effort to use both Nuvo drops and premade enamel dots on my layouts, so that I don't forget about my enamel dots that I loved so much just a few weeks ago (and still love them, but ya know...) secondly don't have time for scrapping let alone waiting for drops to dry or bake. I use the Nuvo drops at the end of my scrapping sessions so that they have a chance to dry. I also work on more than one layout at a time, so I can jump back and forth if I need to let something dry.

I will probably still buy the pre-packaged because they get me with their color combos. I just recently bought a pack that is matte finish. I kind of like those too. I haven't used them yet, though.

I probably will, and i can continue to use the ones I already have as well. The Nuvos make a lovely supplement though. AND i just made a whole sheet on old packagng last night to match a kit I am currently working with which is really handy! I made a sheet with red (red berry), black, white, cream (buttermilk) and baby pink (blush pink). I need more colours though!! I need a navy, grey, some yellows, teal, aqua, bright pink etc but the store was out of those. I am glad I got black and white though as those are always tough to find.

I watched a youtube review of them recently, and the girl said that they never really dried fully and remained tacky. Do you all find this to be true? Do they stick to the page protectors?
(Sorry to hijack...I'm on the fence about purchasing these!)
Thanks!

Yes. I like that with the purchased ones I can get multiple shades of the same color. I am also not sure the perfectionist in me will fall in love with the drops

I tried the Purple Rain Glitter Nuvo drops - trying to make Purple Rain for Prince layouts. I did not like how they turned out and I made several, I didn't care for the shape after pulling through with a pin. What I found that worked better, was to cut out (in my case it was part of a die) a shape that looked like a rain drop with purple paper, and then I used the Purple Rain Glitter Nuvo drop and went over the cut out rain drop with it and let it dry. Liked it way better. I really think the Glitter Nuvo drops are the same as Stickles. But I do not own a ton of Stickles and only two different Nuvo drops, only one of which I have tried.

Can we just stop for a moment and admire the lovely title work on your page?! So straight and perfect, wow! Do you own any of the gloss nuvos? I don't think they are like stickles at all. i don't own any glitter ones though, so I can't compare. Save

My smaller dots take about one hour until they are rock hard and completely dry and smooth. Larger dots and any intricate outlining I let dry overnight (mostly because I scrap at night, so overnight is the easiest way for me to do it) and in the morning that are totally dry, not a bit of tack to them. None of mine have yet to stick to my page protectors. If I have any of these problems in the future, I will be sure to come back and post about them.

I am also not sure the perfectionist in me will fall in love with the drops I've found that I like making drops directly on the layouts, and I like the look of Nuvo drops for smaller drops better because they look more perfect to my eye. I have not been able to draw an enamel shape that I've liked yet.

HOLY GORGEOUS LAYOUT BATMAN!!!!!!! I am in utter awe at how lovely your work is. As for the glitter Nuvo drops being like Stickles, I've heard the same thing, and it was why I chose not to buy any glitter ones. I already have a whole bowlful of Stickles which I love. But I wanted something else entirely.

Gorgeous page! I have not used the Nuvo glitter drops. Looks like you found a great way to use them. Were they that colour, or is that the pp underneath?

The Nuvo Glitter Purple Rain - it was a dark purple, but I also put them over dark purple paper here. There were a few that I made before trying the paper trick that had some clear glittery spots when dry.

(Sorry to hijack...I'm on the fence about purchasing these!) Thanks! Mine did not dry tacky, and none have stuck to the page protectors. However a couple I was a little heavy handed with DID "squash" a bit when closed up in my very overloaded album. Also, that album was in a very warm car for much of one day. The others all held their shape nicely, and even the slightly flattened ones have a finished look on the surface and did not stick to the page protector. None are tacky.

I guess I missed keeping up with this thread the first time around. sbartist, your layout is amazing! I just love looking at all of your work. I recently went to a Zac Brown concert, and they did a Prince encore, starting with the words "Dearly beloved..." Everyone went nuts. It brought tears to my eyes, and they certainly did the song justice! Back to scrapbooking : I will probably occasionally buy enamel dots to color coordinate with paper lines, but the Nuvo drops will usually be just fine, especially as they add more colors. Here is a layout I made yesterday using them. (Disclaimer: for the most part, this design was scrap-lifted from the Simon Says Stamp June 2016 Card Kit gallery.) I loved being able to sprinkle little dots all over, without being restricted by the size and quantities of dots available.

I just played with my newly purchased Nuvos last night and I love them.... so much so, that I placed an order for several more colors. While I can't say that I'll stop buying enamel dots (love those!), I think the Nuvos will be fun to use and handy to have. I did discover that watching a you-tube video or two was helpful. My first attempts weren't pretty, then I watched a couple of videos and was able to make some pretty dots!

I bought 4 bottles - red, cream, white and black. At Expo I only bought some arrow shaped enamels because I like to point things out on my layouts.
