might I suggest the TV show Everwood. It aired from 2002 - 2006. You've probably never heard of it but it is one of our family's favorites. It stars Treat Williams, Emily VanCamp and a host of other actors you've seen in other shows. The basic premise is a widowed brain surgeon from Manhattan moves his two children to the small mountain town of Everwood, Colorado to start a new life. The reason I thought of this show is one of the main characters ~ Bright ~ is a star in the new movie Guardians of the Galaxy.

LOVE LOVE Everwood! I just recently bought season 1 from Hamilton books for like $9.99, and I can't wait to watch it. DH and I still refer to various actors by their Everwood character names. Bright, Amy Abbott, etc.

I love that show. It was such a long wait for them to release the last season on DVD. I have always wanted to sit and binge watch the series. Gilmore Girls, too.

We loved that show so much! It's really hard for me to watch Rookie Blue nowadays, because I always think of Dove as Ephraim, and he still looks like such a kid! Wonderful cast!

I am collecting Gilmore Girls season by season. One of my favorite shows of all time. Back to Everwood . . . I remember it being on but never watched it. Be honest w/me - would my 18 & 15 yr. old sons watch it? We have a little tradition of eating dinner in front of the TV every Tuesday nite and watching an episode or 2 of a TV series. We just finished Cosby and have moved onto the Brady's. I'll be looking for something after that. Would this work?

I saw part of the first season. I had an inappropriate crush on Ephraim.

Netflix - it said it has the DVD's, but we can't stream it. It's not on Amazon Prime, either. (meaning = we can stream it on Amazon, but for a price $$$).

It revolves around the main character (Treat Williams) and his kids, a daughter who is in grade school and a teenage son. I think it's a great family show although it touches on a few subjects like premarital sex and an affair. Most of these subjects are alluded to, I can't remember anything graphic. The teenage boy is rebellious so your sons would probably like that. There is great character development. Please give it a try!
