we are having a slight problem but its not with the working of the fridge,it works great.. The problem is when we shut the fridge door it often pops the freezer door open. I've got a pretty good habit of checking it,but I think I am the only one becoming paranoid about it, I am also the only one who has caught it not closed fully. I have caught it a number of times not closed fully and so far we havent had food ruin but I figure its only a matter of time and only takes once to be a big major thing with the prices of groceries these days...
it doesnt have an alarm on the freezer, boy how I wish it did. I have discovered that you can buy alarms though so may wind up buying one of those, but I do wonder if there is some way to adjust the doors or something to prevent this from happening altogether. I do plan to call and talk to someone at Lowes about it and see what they say,but thought Id mention it here too so I could see what others have done if they had this problem..
thanks-

I'll be watching this thread because we just bought one for our garage - used but looks brand new. It does the same thing.

We have had several side-by-sides over the years and never had that problem! I would call Lowes.

Dh is a mechanical design engineer in refrigerator systems design. He said it unfortunately is the design of the fridge. The freezer and fridge airflow is connected, so when the fridge door is closed, it forces air into the freezer, causing it to pop open.
The only thing you can do is be sure to close the fridge door gently. Depending on how bad it is, it may still pop open a bit, or may not. Other than that, I'm sorry to report that there's nothing that can be done to correct it.
