I'm on a freeze, only buying page protectors, adhesive, and photos (not even albums!). And now I'm trying to make a dent in my supplies. I'm on a mission, LOL. I've finished the remainder of two sheets of enamel dots (because now that I have Nuvo drops, I feel like I have to justify having already purchased all those dots by actually using them.) I used up the last five sheets of a 6x6 pad. I used my nesting circle dies to cut different size shapes to layer on a layout together. Embellished with heaps of enamel dots, Nuvo drops, sequins, and Stickles. (I don't think I'll ever be able to make a dent in the sequins. There is no hope ) I used up the rest of a roll of gold dot washi that I had bought at Target less than a couple months ago. I actually really loved it because it was so versatile, and now I'm struggling not to buy more of it. LOL. I am reaching for my 12x12 patterned paper pads first when looking for a background paper for layouts. I'm a little tired of seeing the same three pads, even though I still really like them. I'm finding that if I outline some of the patterns or details on the papers with Nuvo drops, they look embossed and I find new interest in them. So, what have you used up lately?

That's wonderful! I'm working on using up rub ons, I have lots of them and never think to use them. Now if I could use up some of the eyelets.

I am not using anything at the moment, but in my last scrapping flurry, I used a bunch of LYB pp from years ago. And I keep my eyelets and brads and metal pieces all in one drawer, so if I am looking for something like that, they are all at the ready. I love the idea of cutting shapes out of the 6x6 pp. Would love to see what you have done with those circles and dots, LavenderLayoutLady !

I'm working on using up rub ons, I have lots of them and never think to use them. I've had to toss so many of mine that wouldn't work right anymore. It's something I don't buy anymore. Now if I could use up some of the eyelets. Oh, the eyelets! I have sooooo many of these. And I don't use them on layouts at all. Just cards. Let's just say that I will never, ever have to buy another one again.

Forgive the weird looking kraft cardstock above the top circle. My kids' names are there, and for privacy reasons, I needed to cover them. For those interested, the enamel dots that I made with Nuvo drops (on a plastic sheet and peeled off, then glued) are the ones around the small yellow circle, and on the large bottom floral circle. The white enamel dots on the flowers are Nicole Bling It. And the red enamel dots are from the Dollar Tree. Here's the layout:

I went to Michaels today and was very, very good - only bought photo squares, trimmer blades, and pack of card blanks/envelopes...exactly what I went in for.
I don't know about using stuff up but I did 4 layouts yesterday and 3 today to finish up the June 2014 photos. And then I made 47 cards using scraps because my scrap files were full (they are still full, sigh) and my blank cards box was empty (and Sunday is my letter writing day...I have 5 people I write to weekly and then random others).
I did use up one box of photo squares and a pack of card blanks (25ct) - does that count?

I usually have more than one photo on a page, but I usually do 2 page spreads, so I could tatally incorporate a design like this.

Trying to...I did rather a lot of shopping (for me) in late May/early June that refilled the dent I made during TYS so now I need to make another, more lasting dent.

That is so nice that you writ to five people weekly. I bet they feel so loved having beautiful cards in the mail from you. I hope so. It's my mum, my MIL, my son (who is stationed in Japan), a family friend who is in a nursing home (she's like an aunt to me) and a co-worker from when I was in high school who is a home-bound senior. So 4/5 are in their 80s (ok so mum is 79.6) and from an era where letter writing was more common.

That's great! I need to make a dent in my stash as well - so my mission is to basically use most of what I've got in scrapping my travel photos from the 90s. I've organised paper and embellishments into little kits and am working my way through those. I really want to sub to Hip Kit, but I can't do that until I use stuff up!

I haven't used the last of anything in a while but I have been digging into my stash for my PL album. I love that I can use all the random one off pieces and they don't feel out of place. But I seriously need to start working on making some layouts rather than just shopping for them.

I love that I can use all the random one off pieces and they don't feel out of place. I am so impressed you can actually use this kind of stuff! I've been hoarding this SC 4x6 wood veneer forever waiting for the perfect place! How do you bring yourself to use it?

I guess the first thing I would ask myself is do I love this piece so much I just haven't found a project that is special enough, or is it a piece that I am struggling to use because I don't know what to do with it?
I would probably use it as an embellishment in a filler pocket with some pp scraps behind it and word stickers or die cuts layered over the top (although I think it could look pretty cool with a small photo layered over the top too). If the stickers or a similar die cut appear elsewhere on the spread it helps it feel cohesive even though it's a one off piece.

ellewood, have you been to Diagon Allley in HP World? That pice of verger looks just like Gringotts bank structure to me. If not, you should go for a visit.

This week I've used up my last packs of tiny crab paper piecings by Jolees (on a New England clambake LO, a trip to Baltimore's HonFest, and a bad mood page). I used up some washi tape: a gray and white diagonal stripe and a blue washi with clouds and hearts on it (my fave). I'm not replacing anything but adhesive right now: it feels good to get the good stuff out of storage and onto the LOs.

I had two of those wood veneers. One I used on a scrapbook page about my daily routine with a calendar behind it. The other I used in a 6x8 album. I just put it in the rings like it was a page and glued sequins and embellishment on it.

ellewood - I'm not a wood veneer sort but I think that would look awesome with a flower photo behind it, kind of a mosaic effect

A few years ago I bought the MME Miss Caroline knock off paper pad at Michaels. And then never used it. It's just been sitting there all this time. I scrapped some pictures of some old friends and it went perfectly with the pictures. I was so happy to finally use it! Every time I use a paper pad I'm reminded of the fact that it'll take so long to get used up even if I really like it. One layout doesn't make a dent in it.
I really need to be on a spending freeze combined with more scrapping time.

anniefb - I love that! I used up a Karen Foster sticker sheet (pink mulbury looking floral - it had borders and squares and random leaves) that's been in my stash for well over a decade (I'm thinking c. 2003 maybe). I've done 5 layouts so far today and on two of them I managed to incorporate something from that sheet (one of the borders and some random leaves) and it's DONE!
