A piece is not finished until I add:
Sewing and splatters.
How about you? A piece can be anything you create!

A piece is not finished until I add at least one matted photo and handwritten journaling.

A piece is not finished until I add layers and matching decoration to the inside of the card.

That's the thing! I never know WHEN a piece is finished! I am often adding elements, lifting thing, tucking in other things long after I thought I was done with it.
Guess I could say A page is not done until it tells the story. A card is not done til it's in the mail

...is not done until it is in my album. But even then I have been known to go back and add things, move things, etc. At last it is in the album to be enjoyed.
I went it Expo this weekend and 'finished' my 2 volume year in England books, came home and immediately put the layouts I did in the albums. I will tweak it here and there, add a little more journalling to a few pages but basically if I never get back to them they can be enjoyed just as they are.

I typically just make cards, so for me it's finishing the inside with a stamped sentiment and a strip of coordinating patterned paper along the bottom edge of the card. I love an inside finished card!

Lately it seems to a banner type tag. They are handy little things to fill in an empty corner or write the date or some little "love this" type sentiment. They seem to be magically appearing on my layouts these days.

I feel my layouts aren't "done" until I draw a thin line outline around the edges of my 12x12 paper.

A piece is not finished until I add: Lately? Enamel dots or Nuvo drops. A diecut (mostly a journaling spot lately) Sequins. I've had some very heavily embellished layouts lately.

I almost always need to add enamel dots or sequins for those small clusters of 3...I'm very predictable!

there's some little detail off in a corner... like a small tag, die cut or enamel dot.

I'm all over the place! It depends on the page or album. I think the only consistent thing is my own handwriting because I don't want to figure out how to get it to work on the computer.

Until I write on it. Sometimes that's journaling on the front or sometimes it's on the back. But...I feel the need to always note the date, subject and location. That often doesn't fit with the design of the layout on the front, so I write it on the back. I love looking through old photos that my husband's grandmother kept. She was so good about always journaling the details on the backs. When I look through my grandmother's old photos I can't tell who anyone is, when or where they were taken.

I don't always enjoy journaling and so sometimes I keep it really simple, but I can never call a layout finished unless it has something written on it to at least somewhat indicate what's going on.

I am fickle and will say that a piece isn't done until it has my latest obsession on it (today that's Nuvo crystal drop embellishments).
I probably should say "Journaling" though because that seems to be the last thing I add before slipping a page into a protector...

I don't consider a page finished until the label is on the back with: Title, Date Completed, Fonts used, Date of photos, People pictured

Until it's dated. I even feel the need to date most of my photos in PL (at least one in an obvious series of photos from the same day). It's just what feels right to me. The date is almost always on the back of the photo, but I still want to see it somewhere. I hate when I go to put away a layout and I realized I've forgotten to stamp the date on it.
