After reading all the threads about purging your old stuff I was ALMOST tempted to do it. I'm always afraid I'm going to get rid of something and then discover I really NEED it for a layout or card down the line. So yesterday I decided I could easily get rid of all my old flowers. I haven't used flowers on a layout in probably 5 years! The big plastic container was sitting in the garbage container in my room today....but below is the reason it's back on my shelf!! LOL! That's awesome! I love when I find a way to make something I love out of something I've had forever. (I'm not a big purger either!)

How about instead of purging, you do what you just did? You can peruse a part of your stash that you don't use very often and periodically make it a point to use those items on as many projects as possible. If you have a lot of a particular item, like flowers...you can set yourself a goal of using it on so many projects in a certain time frame and if you don't make it, then purge a percentage of that item from your stash. Incentive to use it AND freeing up space for new stuff if you find your aren't reaching for it as much as you thought you could.

I love your page. Great use of the flowers. I guess the good thing about the purge is it brought some pretties out into the light and when you noticed them you used them.

I'm glad you put your supplies to use instead of purging. I don't purge just for the sake of purging. I only purge things when I have an "ewwww" reaction when I look at them and KNOW I'll never, ever like them or use them.

YAY for using your stash!
I am a TERRIBLE purger! I just kind of push things aside that aren't my favorite lol.

I love your page! I'm glad you were able to use instead of purge. I try to purge the things I know I absolutely won't use. I have some supplies from Sassafras Lass that I still keep because I still like them and I'm glad I did since, they're not around any more.

It's hard for me to purge also. I do it and then before you know I'm in the box and taking things back out.

I have to actually get them out of my craft room or I don't consider them purged. Your lucky mistake was calling them purged but still keeping them where you could see them. :-)

I purge when I run out of room. I have some good buddies that love my old supplies and a great place to donate them, so purging for me isn't like throwing things away. I really don't purge all of anything. If I had some flowers I thought weren't making the cut, I would just toss those.

Yep I've started tossing old things as well - if it's something that can't be sold, donated etc. I have limited space and it's important to me that it only contains things I absolutely love.

Nice that you used them I rarely use them so purged a lot but kept some just in case. I love when you go through your stash and find stuff you still love but had forgotten about.
