its kinda of just randomness thrown together. Yes. Very random. The first thought at seeing the doughnuts was Homer Simpson - odd random thought. I like feathers, but owls have already been done a million times, and giraffes are usually used in baby lines. I definitely don't love or need this line. I totally dont get the erasers. Why even bother including them? It's like those super kawaii Shopkins. I have no use for that whatsoever. I wish scrapbook manufacturers would just focus on doing a great job on making scrapbooking supplies, instead of doing a mediocre job trying to draw in the planner crowd, the eraser collector crowd, the decorating crowd.

I like the arrow paper and maybe the leaf one behind it. Most of the washi is nice enough, but probably overpriced. I don't mind the owls or giraffes - at least the latter is something new - but don't like the doughnuts at all. Overall I feel like I should like the colour palette but don't. I can't quite put my finger on why, but especially on that floral paper it looks kind of twee.

I actually swap between "donut" and "doughnut". They're both delicious.

I echo what has been said: bits and pieces appeal, but the icons don't (don't mind feathers, but I HATE doughnuts as an embellie! And I managed to use the 2 &*#@ zebras from the last collection, so now I'm up for a giraffe challenge? WTH?)
I like the arrows, yellow stripe, & flower print papers. Washi check. But even the sticker book won't make it into my collection because the icons are too too specific for me.

I agree - the colors are great, I like some of the papers, but what the heck am I going to do with owls, giraffes, and donuts?

Meh, no thanks. Not cohesive, very busy, and I just don't get the owls, giraffes, and donuts/doughnuts. Doh!

Interesting... I like the arrow paper, and I'd like to see what the roller stamp says. I'd never use them, but the donut erasers made me laugh!

Not my style.
My daughter went through a big giraffe phase as a toddler, but it's not like you see a lot of giraffes in every day life (most of us, anyway), so I never know how to use that kind of thing.

It's almost like they say around and said what animal hadn't been done to death? Giraffes! That's it! For the record I am usually a huge fan of Amy's lines and think her stuff is super cute! But I am just not feeling this one. Although I agree that the washi is awesome.

I don't like random animal embellishments. Also is that a school.bus in there? Weird.
I can usually use the papers from Amy's collections but not the embellishments. I will probably just get a paper pad for this one.

I always feel a bit perplexed by Amy's collections. My mind doesn't work the way her mind works, at all. I don't understand putting random donuts (or giraffes) on a page that's not about donuts, but I'm also loathe to add a doughnut embellishment on a page where there is already a photo of a donut. It feels like overkill! (I don't understand the current donut trend at all. For planners, either. Why?) I like feathers and arrows, flowers, hearts, and sunshines. The colors are OK. Some animals I can handle, even if they're random - I'm OK with owls, but a giraffe? I think it's not just that it's totally random, but that the shape doesn't really work. An owl can sit in a circle, it's symmetrical, compact. A big old leggy giraffe with it's silly neck - just on a design level it doesn't work for me, not even for cardmaking, where I can be a little less literal.
Maybe I'll end up with a 6x6 pad and some embellishments down the line. That's what I wanted to do with Starshine (if AC hadn't botched the release so badly that the 6x6 pad wasn't available for 6 months!) I can probably made some cute cards with this stuff... maybe. It's not a must-have the way Starshine was for me.
I think the common thread in Amy's stuff is that she likes it and it makes her happy. (Or she's told to do certain things and then she puts on her happy face and sells the living daylights out of how cute it is because that's her job.) I'll just enjoy watching her videos here and there, all the while shaking my head at the random stuff she throws onto her pages and the dumb (IMO) things she finds adorable.

I've never liked Amy Tan's collections. They're too chaotic for me. I am starting to feel that away about a lot of what I see. Not sure if it is just a by-product of me spending all day with 3 little kids... But I am way overstimulated by the time I sit down for some me-time and all of the chaotic collections just put me over the edge.

Doughnuts/donuts are the latest mustache...sure you can probably find a page or two to use that sort of paper/embellishment on, but how often is that going to be needed? Overkill. But, just think, at least we no longer see mustache paper!

On an unrelated note, does it matter how you spell donut/doughnut? I prefer doughnut. I used to, but doughnut takes up a lot of title space on a layout. And wipes out a lot of Thickers all at once. So I'm a donut convert.

I don't like the icons...who in the heck needs giraffes on their layouts? And how many Volkswagon bus stickers do you need in a pack of stickers for heaven's sake? Don't get me started on the donuts. I don't see how I can use this stuff. And taxis. I can't use taxis. Colors are nice, but I can't use it, although I ordered some of it lol.

Maybe I am too removed from Pop-scrapbooking. I am still more traditional I guess. Give me my florally prints and things and I am happy!

Not a must have for me. I would love to have those thickers and the sticker book, but I'm not crazy about the papers or the stamp or the other items. I'm done with owls, giraffes and donuts, I think.me too. Im ready for some pretty lines - not too teen, not too old lady. Just something simple pretty.Have you checked into Felicity Jane? I feel that what they offer is definitely "just pretty".

American Crafts posted Amy Tan's newest line....donuts, feathers, owls and giraffes. You can see it here. Thoughts? I don't know that I love it....but I do like the colors. And I can see me using the puffy stickers, washi and Thickers. The papers are bright, which I like. It really just seems lazy to me. Like someone at AC said "let's make a list of the most popular things we see on Pinterest and make a collection of them. We'll stick Amy's name on it and it will be a hit." Um no.

I like the geometric papers and the thickers. The illustration papers (the ones with giraffes and stuff) seem a touch juvenile for my tastes. But maybe if I had kids?

I think it's an extension of the food craze. Food pictures turns into food themed (though, not images, just words at the time) stamps turns into food specific stamps, stickers, paper, you name it. At least this is a craze that I'm not alone in disliking.

I love the washi and white phrase thickers but that's it. Nothing else appeals to me. I'm really sick of feathers (never really understood that one) and random zoo animals. I love a lot of Amy Tan's lines and the watercolor look (Plus One is still a major fave, even with the pink in it), but this is a miss for me.

I didn't like the Dear Lizzy and Shimelle lines but I really like this one.
I scrapbook little boys, have a season pass to the zoo, and this has all kinds of potential. The colors are really nice.

I like the paper that has the different shades of blue leaves. I see a few other sheets that I wouldn't mind picking up as well. That's pretty typical for me... I like to cherry pick. Also, I think the donut erasers are kind of cute! Don't know what I would do with them, but I like them as a motif.

Amy LOVES to watercolor in rainbow colors. I want a line like that. Her LOVE MORE script is awesome. I would so love that in a sticker. That's who she is and that's what people want to buy.
