American Crafts posted Amy Tan's newest line....donuts, feathers, owls and giraffes. You can see it here. Thoughts? I don't know that I love it....but I do like the colors. And I can see me using the puffy stickers, washi and Thickers. The papers are bright, which I like.

I like the colours and those laser cut owls. And that different striped pp is interesting.
But a strange combination of images, don't you think?

Not a must have for me. I would love to have those thickers and the sticker book, but I'm not crazy about the papers or the stamp or the other items. I'm done with owls, giraffes and donuts, I think.

I'm always on the fence when it comes to Amy Tans lines. I've come to believe I'm not a big fan of the watercolor look, as most of her lines have. I may want a few pieces, but it's nothing I'm dying to get my hands on.
Now the real question is, will AC be putting it all out or will they pull the stunt the pulled with Shimelles last line??

Normally I dont like Amy Tan stuff when it first shows up online. But the last collection (Better Together? I think), I loved. It actually surprised me.

I usually like Amy Tan's stuff, especially the watercolor-looking embellishments, but donuts and giraffes? I'll pass....

The colors aren't her, but the feel of the collection is. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I want the skinny cloud washi (that was the first thing to jump out at me) and there are some tiny hearts in a row on the roller stamp that caught my eye (not that you can see the whole thing from the images).
I like the color change, it feels Autumnal...so maybe it's happening because of the time of year it's coming out?
Not much can win my heart more than the dark blue stripe paper from Better Together that almost looked watercolory. That paper is one I'd take out of my stash and put back 1,000 times out of fear or ruining it, so I think I bought three, lol.

I wish the funky colored animals and fruit would stop...the donuts are a planner thing and the papercrafting world is doing a lot to try and get those people's attention, so while I am NOT a fan, I get why it's there. Donuts in my tummy? Yes. Donuts on my layouts? Unless it's a picture (which I don't do many food pictures unless it's a rare date night and even then, I can't say we've ever gone out for donuts), no.

Not really for me aside from the puffy stickers and maybe the stickerbook. That being said, i am generally not a massive fan of Amy Tan papers. I like a few from each collection, but that is generally about it. Like mom though, I did like Better Together pretty well...i will be fone missing out on this one though. Too many colours for me, too harring.

The colors are pretty, but the whole thing isn't for me at all. What's up with the donut erasers? I'm also not a fan of the arrows and geometric shapes.
I do like the heart paper + the yellow stripe + multi stripe papers.
Then again, to be fair, there haven't been a ton of lines that I've really had to jump all over lately.

I wouldn't mind 1 piece of doughnut paper for a recipe album. Why are they a thing with planner people? I would like a better look at the papers. Isn't there an A and B side?

Those donut erasers remind me of stuff you can get at Daiso for $2.80 (Australian) My 12 year old daughter likes them, and they are cute little detailed food erasers, but seriously are they needed in a scrapbook line? I am sure they will overcharge for them too. Save

On an unrelated note, does it matter how you spell donut/doughnut? I prefer doughnut.

I love the skinny washi, but that's about it for now. I will see how it looks when I get a closer look (if I do).

Meh.. To me the common theme for line is "stuff that I am OVER"- doughnuts, feathers, cameras, brush script... It feels very juvenile to me. I am with mom, just give me something simple and pretty.

Me no likey. The colors remind me of the Paige Evans thing - which viscerally puts me off right there. I think AC decides colors to a great extent, and then each designer works w/in that palette to pick a subset of colors and all the images for the collection. I think they want their collections to work together. I noticed it mostly w/Amy's and Shimelle's last collections. Lots of the same blues and greens. We'll see what Shimelle or Dear Lizzy's looks like to see if this theory holds water.

Maybe there is a 'thread' that connects everything, but to me it comes over as really random. This is totally how I feel. I don't need a line to be so heavily themed that I can only use it for school pictures or a beach vacation or ... but I can't even tell what the driving theme behind this collection is.
