I really want to get back to scrapping more. I love the product, the hobby and the finished pages. I have tons of photos.
But I truly miss all the inspiration and scrap lift ideas from getting 3 magazines a month (remember not only Creating Keepsakes and Memory Makers, but Paper Kuts too?) and all the stuff on the old Two Peas like the ton of videos plus the active gallery. I know there is a gallery here, but I need some help about where to go for big doses of inspiration. I know there is always Pinterest, and YouTube, but there is SO much random stuff. Any help for specific YouTube channels or blogs would be great.
Reading the posts on this board is also inspiring, but I would love to have something to replace those magazines and TwoPeas videos.
Thanks!

Oh how I miss the magazines too. I used to get CK, MM and Simple Scrapbooks. I would flip through them time and time and time again! I peruse Pinterest a lot and IG but would love to have a magazine sub again.

There are still two really good quality magazines, published quarterly, sophikins Creative Scrapbooker and Scrapbook & Cards TodayCS is a thick magazine, good quality paper and binding, full of tutorials and lots of ideas. I think of it as a cross between the old CK and the MM magazines. Artsy, trendy, but also practical. They also host webisodes from time to time teaching about new products and techniques. SCT is free, either in paper version or on line. They also have a kit club. They are more like Simple Scrapbooks.

I miss the fast pace of the forums and the online galleries, they were all so different and had different vibes depending on where you went. I can remember sitting down on two peas to look through all the new photos in the gallery and you could have well over 50 new pages in 24 hours and three pages of forum threads.

I agree--especially about Two Peas. The scrapbooking community seems very decentralized to me now. Two Peas used to be a one stop shop for community, galleries, everything..now I feel like I hop around between here and various Facebook groups. I guess I miss the conversation all being in one place.

Yep. I love Creative Scrapbooker Magazine but dang, it's expensive. I know my Canadian friends are eye rolling right now and that's OK...

Much agreed. Totally miss all the magazines and they are still out there but they are ALL oversees...the UK has a few really good ones. Now I know how they feel (meaning our over the pond friends) because usually it is the other way around.

Scrapbook.com puts out an email everyday. It includes new products, sales, and best of all - 9 inspiration pages.
I print my favorites for inspiration.

They have a great DT who you can follow on Instagram, plus a blog:

I miss the magazines, too. A lot! Especially CK. I like something tangible I can hold in my hands and so far I just can't quite get into digital magazines. I have picked up a copy of Scrapbook & Cards Today, but quarterly just isn't often enough. I wish there were a monthly paper magazine like CK used to be.

I like galleries/forums better than having to get on facebook and join so many groups. It seems as though that's where everyone's turning, though.

I miss some magazines, and I really dislike online magazines. I don't read a magazine that way. I need to be on the couch with paper in hand. Anyway, my go to now is Pinterest. There is SO much there, and I can always find something to inspire me.

I miss getting my CK magazine in the mail too. I use Pinterest for inspiration now. It can be random if you're just looking at suggested pins or what is on your main page. I get around that by doing specific searches and looking at my own boards. It's over 1,000 things that inspired me to pin them so I know I'll find something there to give me a kick start. Or I'll search certain scrappers or brands.

I was looking at magazines tonight while grocery shopping. I felt so sad there was not one Scrapbook magazine. I miss them so much. My library is linked to Zinio. I can download Cloth, Paper & Scissors for free. It is not the same as having old fashion magazines in your hand. I do love to buy the UK magazines when I get to Barnes & Noble.

I know you mentioned Pinterest and how it's random, but if you find one or two users that sift through all the randomness to find the good stuff, then you just follow their boards. My favorite example of this is Meghan M. Her Card Inspiration board literally has thousands of pins in it. It may take time to find that "one" person that has what you're looking for (scrapbooking layouts??), but I'd bet it's out there. Good luck!

As was mentioned earlier Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine is my favorite. It gets delivered 4 times a year. You can buy it at Barnes and Noble now, too. I love it! Scrapbook & Cards Today

I agree--especially about Two Peas. The scrapbooking community seems very decentralized to me now. Two Peas used to be a one stop shop for community, galleries, everything..now I feel like I hop around between here and various Facebook groups. I guess I miss the conversation all being in one place. Same! Two Peas was always my #1 stop when seeking inspiration, though I would still use visit other sites, too. "Decentralized" is the PERFECT word for the state of the scrapbooking universe. These days, I rely on blogs (though I notice not as many people maintain and update blogs as they used to in the past, or they've shifted from scrapbooking to some other crafty pursuit), Instagram, Pinterest, and kit club galleries (these are being downsized, too -- SC most noticeably). I'm a member of a few FB groups related to scrapbooking, but those feel kind of fragmented to me. I miss having a hub. SaveSave

Yep, two p's was my main scrapping home for the most part but I did have a few other boards I liked to visit as well. But 2p's was my main gallery. I did transfer my gallery to Scrapbook.com but I still don't find myself going there. That may have to do with the fact that I stepped away from design team work and posting online for awhile. They do have free classes there and some look really good!
As much as I am glad that there are online magazines (and Jot is my favorite) I really do miss physical magazines. I can't pin layouts from the online mags except SCT.
I do have a scrapbook inspiration board on Pinterest that I refer to a lot!

I need help finding an inspiration sketch. I thought this might be the place to come to ask! I'm not a traditional scrapbooker, I usually do PL, so I'm not familiar with all the resources. I'm trying to dip my toe in! Is there a place I could search for specifics, like 8.5x11 layouts where my photo is a horizontal 4x6 and I want to do it in a grid style?

Isn't there a Create online magazine that's free, too? I like scrapbook.com for sketches and gallery inspiration.
