I only go in when I have a list to adhere to and am in a time crunch. I can grab what I need, make a quick circuit of the store, and be out in well under 10 minutes. The cashiers are always shocked at how little I get. But I recognize a rabbit hole when I see one and try not to fall in. I'd never get my money's worth out of most of the stuff I would buy anyway.
But an actual service? Hmmm... that might lure me in.

I am in desperate need of some mascara and dry shampoo. But I've been really tempted to try a new foundation. So I've been putting off my trip to Ulta because I just know it's going to cost me. If my 16 year old DD goes, then all hell really breaks loose. I try to sneak over there without her.

I inherited by dad's brows and just plucked the heck out of them willy nilly when I was in 8th or 9th grade. The gal at Ulta did a great job actually shaping what was left. AND she was so darn nice about it ~ well, except not warning me when she was about to rip half my face off in the first pull. I kid! I kid!

Quite the opposite for me in ULTA. I get overwhelmed and just leave. Sephora is hit or miss - as cadoodlebug said - I am invisible 50% of the time.

Places like that intimidate me because I have terrible skin (acne scars, sun spots) and I've never done anything with my eyebrows. I kept going by the Benefit Brow Bar in Macy's and it is way more intimidating than the one at Ulta. People milling all around ~ and ignoring me. So when I walked in Ulta and it was there, I just walked up to the nearest associate and said *I'd like to get my eyebrows shaped* and she put me on the list ~ for an appointment in 10 minutes! Timing is everything. I encourage you to give it a try!
