some Redken Shampoo and ended up spending $96? And is going to use the Peas as a scapegoat. I saw the Benefit Bar and thought about the thread on maintaining ones eyebrows. So, after 68 years I decided to let a professional do it. Having never had anything waxed before I do admit I let out a little yelp as my eyes watered. She assured me the redness would be gone by July 4th. So of course I also had to buy the brand-new-only-came-out-the-other-day-amazing Goof Proof Brow Pencil and the High Brow Pencil for highlighting my new arch, right? DH needs to have his cataract surgery soon so he can see how amazing my brows look.

Happened at my Ulta too. I, I mean she, went in to get her son's hair cut and left with hair gel, Urban Decay eye shadow, and Tweezerman tweezers.

Gee, I should warn "my" friend who is only going in there for her free birthday gift of some miniscule bottle of hairspray and the under-eye circle concealer to steer free of any other aisles.

I don't know that we have these stores here. I have never seen one but then I live under a rock.

Doing your own brows has done you well!

Something I just learned about the rewards program - the more points you accumulate, the more the points are worth. Meaning (and I can't remember the real numbers) x points = $3.00 in rewards. But 10x points = $50.00 in rewards. I always used to spend them as I earned them, not realizing I could get a bigger reward by holding on to them.
I feel like I haven't explained this very well. This might help:
100 points = $3.00 off 250 points = $8.00 off 500 points = $17.50 off 750 points = $30.00 off 1000 points = $50.00 off 2000 points = $125.00 off

Thanks for the info, jesq !! I remember one of my first times checking out there, feeling guilty about my $200 expenditure. But then the lady in front of me totaled over $500, so I felt better. Any thing to rationalize, I grasp onto...

Oh my gosh, you had me in stiches. The next time I overspend I will be able to say "yeah, but it was far less than $96!"

How about the woman that swears that she absolutely won't buy more nail polish when she goes to Ulta, but always walks out with at least one new bottle?

You have to go into Ulta w/blinders on or you're sunk. I go to get my Bare Escentuals and then leave. If I go near anything else, especially nail polish I'm doomed.

Same thing happened to me last week, only it cost me $150. That was without having my brows done either! DD was thrilled with the points, as I just give them her membership card when I shop there. I figure she is a young professional on a tight budget, so anything I can do to help (which may or may not lead to added items in my shopping bag). Right?

Ulta is becoming more and more like Target everyday. Hard to leave the store without spending $100!

I'm bad in Ulta, but even worse in Sephora. Luckily Sephora is in the mall that I avoid, except maybe 2 times a year, I somehow find myself in its clutches!

I went into Ulta before vacation for sunscreen. I left $170 lighter in the wallet with a whole new skin care regimen. It happens.

I adore the Bennefit Bar. Nobody else can get my eyebrows looking as good as those women can. I haven't had anybody try and upsell me anything eye brow pencils yet. Maybe it's because mine are such thick caterpillars they couldn't get their spiel out with a serious face. These babies need taming, not pencils.

I recently went into Ulta because my daughter and I were heading into a restaurant next door and she needed a hair tie to pull her hair back while eating. (She is 15 and there are some things I don't fight because this will be a quick $3 purchase).
$57 later.....
And the restaurant next door ended up being closed!!!!!

I'm usually safe in Sephora because if you're over a certain age you are invisible. They should hire me as a secret shopper because I can stroll around in there for 10 minutes without anyone asking if they can help me.
