We bought a fancy Samsung Waterwall dishwasher 3 weeks ago and it is terrible. We had it replaced once already and it is already leaking again. The door latch has failed after one wash. Going to replace with a whole new model this time.
Anyone have one to recommend?

We are on our 2nd Kenmore Elite stainless steel dishwasher. The first one was 7 years old. They should last a bit longer but they are not meant to be run as much as I run it (1-2x a day). I just had my new one installed last week. I wanted exactly what I had last time because I love it so much. In our old house, I had 3 dishwashers and none that I love as much as this one.

We bought the LG after having a whirlpool for 11 years. I looked up ratings online before we bought because I hate washing dishes and didn't want a lemon. Here is the one we bought.

I am a terrible applance shopper.
When my cheap, came-with-newly-built-house Whirlpool died after **30 years** I walked into the nearest appliance store and said, "Give me a nice, mid-range Whirlpool dishwasher." They did and it has worked fine for the past 2.5 years since I bought it.
I know, not much help.

We have owned a Bosch for the last year and we love it. Had Kenmore and GE before that. The Bosch is super quiet, cleans well and fits a lot of dishes for its size. We've been very happy with it.

You must get a GE profile. You can put an entire bottle of soap in the door and it dispenses it for you! Cleans and drys great! (Mine is about 7 years old, but I still love it!)

I love my 2-1/2 year old Kitchen Aid. I've had Kitchen Aid dishwashers before and will not buy anything else.

I'll be watching this thread. My KitchenAid dishwasher is 20 years old and starting to whine. That machine has been fantastic. There are days that it has been run up to 4 times. I hate the idea of having to replace it. But, know it's going to die soon. So, I have been looking. Yesterday, I saw an LG that had a 10 year warranty. Also looked at a KitchenAid and a Bosch. I don't mind paying a little for a new dishwasher, so long as it cleans well. But, I hate the idea of one only lasting 5 to 7 years.

Mine is definitely not newish so I probably shouldn't even post a reply. Ok, I can't say anymore because it is old and I don't want to jinx it!

We got a KitchenAid when we upgraded in TX and I loved it and very much miss it. If I replace mine, that is what I am looking at FIRST.

Watching this thread, as our Maytag just died after 2 years. We had the control panel replaced a few months after we got it (under warranty), and now it seems to be out again. The repairman's advice for keeping the control panels from dying was, "Don't use it with wet hands." For real?! It's a DISHWASHER - how am I supposed to keep dry hands??

Oh, and speaking of quiet. We have an open floor plan house, and I was standing 5 feet from the new dishwasher the other day. I told my dd "Oh, I forgot to turn on the dishwasher." Nope, it was on. Can't hear a thing!!!! Love that!

What a timely thread! We are getting ready to do the final renovation in our fixer upper and it is the kitchen. I have to get refrigerator/dishwasher/range. I have been without a dishwasher for almost 18 months and I want a great one when I get it. Thanks for all the comments on what you have.

I had a Bosch dishwasher in my previous house but when I moved to my new house I replaced the aging dishwasher there with a KitchenAid. I was pleased with the way the Bosch cleaned the dishes, but Bosch doesn't put heated dry in their dishwashers and I missed having that. So I went back to KitchenAid, which is what I had two houses ago and really liked. My MIL has had KitchenAid dishwashers for most of her adult life and swears by them as well.

We just purchased a Bosch with the 3rd rack. I can't praise it enough. The dishes come out spotless and if the red light wasn't on, I would never know it was running.

Bosch. We've had 3 (in different houses) Love them. Last one had the 3rd rack. What Bomo said. You can't hear them running, hence the red light.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I couldn't disagree more. We had one of those - came with the house, new. It was, bar none, the worst appliance I've ever had. It was nothing but problems, including the dispenser which clogged multiple times, despite never mixing detergent types. Plus, it just did a crappy job washing. After 4 repairs and countless re-washed dishes in 4 years, we dumped it and got a very nice Kenmore Elite. We've had it over a year now and I love it as much as the first day. Still cleans everything beautifully and hasn't had a single issue. My only complaint is that I put up with that GE piece of crap for so long.

We have a Dacor and it's super quiet (light flashes on the floor to let you know it's running) and washes well. Bonus, it's made in the USA.

I have a Kenmore. I bought the LG to replace the Maytag that came with the house and lasted 12-13 years. The LG lasted about 2 years before it started a high-pitched whistling sound and then soon began leaking. I've had the Kenmore about 3 weeks now and love it-so far. It is the $600ish one.

I have a great GE Adora. But my previous Maytag was the biggest lemon ever. No more Maytag anything in this house.

It's from when the house was built in 1972 (we think) and is a Kitchenaid. It's loud and we have to scrape and rinse but it cleans everything perfectly. Can you tell we're old-school, use-it-til-it-can't-fixed-anymore type people?? But if it truly ever dies, I will look at Kitchenaids first, for sure.

Not with soap, but I remove every bit of food. It drives my sister batshit crazy. Can't help it, it's an OCD thing and I'm not going to change.

We replaced ours last year with a Viking. The machine itself is great - so very quiet, cleans great, good amount of space. But I would never buy another one. The Viking authorized dealers are murder and so are the subcontracted installers. The Viking home office customer service is good but the local authorized people lose the sale for them.
