There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.

Oh I'm sad.
I admired him a great deal and loved listening to him when he gave interviews or speeches.

Night is one of the best books I've ever read. I read it in 12th grade and it made a huge impression on me. I've never forgotten the way that book made me feel. I'm so sad to hear this news today.

He talked at my college. In the field house. You could hear a pin drop as he spoke.

So sad to hear this.
Thank you, Elie Wiesel, for shining light on a very dark time in human history and bearing witness on behalf of those who didn't survive.

I'm hoping there is a special place in heaven for him. For what he endured as the worst humans can do, and then to educate us to become the best of what humans can be, there must be a wonderful corner just for him. May he rest in peace.

I am very sad to hear this. His book "Night" should be required reading for everyone. Especially as we move on in time and sadly there are more and more people that deny the Holocaust ever happened. That book is very powerful and made such an impression on me. He was an amazing man.

When my kids where in middle school, he came and talked to them. DD was in 8th grade and DS was in 5th so they both attended and remember him well. DD choked up when she heard of his passing. She vividly remembers the story he told of the 3ft tapeworm he had to remove from himself, up and out his mouth. He didn't even know what it was until former doctor who was captive with him told him it would kill him if he didn't get it out.
And she remembers him showing her his tatoo number, A7713 I think she said.
I wish I was aware he was coming, I would have come.
