Is there is a web site to put in your floor plan and it will give you options to see what additions could be done to it? Also, it needs to be a free site please. Thanks much.

I have never seen one. My DH is a structural engineer and works in residential. He did the plans for our 2ND story addition. He has also gone to friends' houses who are considering additions to help them figure out what can be done. Even in person, many times he has to climb into attics or can't give a positive answer with out opening up walls. From what I have seen the only way to do what you want is if you have the actual building plans that you could send to someone. Just your floor plan is not enough. Roof lines/trusses matters a lot because that can determine which walls are load bearing.

A site like that would be awesome! I get what caangel means - of course you would need someone to look at it structurally, but a site that would just give ideas for adding/alteration...that would be great!

...or even just ideas to then take to a designer - something to give an idea of what I would like, or what is possible!

If you have an existing floor plan to work with, you could draw it out yourself and take that to a contractor. Drawing floor plans on graph paper is not difficult and if your contractor likes what you came up with they can make the official modifications to actual blue prints.

I would seek out an architect. They can come to your house and help with a vision and design.

No, there is not a website like that or I haven't heard of it. You would have to have the actual blueprints for your home. Just the line drawings (with walls) will not be enough.
Also, you have to take into account local codes, etc. You will need to meet with a designer or architect or at a minimal, a contractor. I would start with a contractor. They will know whats possible.

Not sure what kind of ideas you are looking for but Houzz is a great place to get idea. We also would tour open houses or new homes. The possibilities are truly endless depending on your finances, land and local code. In general kitchens and baths are expensive to add on compared to bedrooms or general living spaces (they have less electrical, plumbing and hard finishes like cabinets).
