I got this stamp set in a Studio Calico kit sale but have no idea how to use the shapes. Well, except for the hexagon and diamond. Can someone fill me in?

The 3 big stamps look like they slot together, but I have no idea what shape that's supposed to be.

That is the weirdest stamp set thrown together I have ever seen. Perhaps if you stamp the pieces, cut them out and see what you can make out of it, it will make more sense?

I have this too and came across it in my stash the other day! I said "huh?" and put it back away so I wouldn't have to think about it.

I have seen layouts that used this stamp set. They must have been on the SC website. Can you find out what month it came with and ask for help at SC? I am sure someone will know.

Looks to me like a hexagon theme. The striped, script, and diamond shapes can fit together to make a big hexagon. The other shapes can be stamped multiple times to make a hexagon: the shape above the striped piece is half a hexagon, three diamonds can fit into a hex shape, as can six triangles.

Looks to me like it's supposed to be some 'random' backgroundstamp, possibly for smaller projects like planners or PL-cards. Because the shapes themselves don't make much sense. Does that black half-hexagon fit into the hexagon-outlined-stamp?
I would use the striped stamp as a background in my planner, stamped in a lighter colour, and then write an appointment or event on top of it. Or a sticker on top.
I may be shape-challenged, because I don't see any known shapes in there, except for the diamond and hexagon.

I'm no help with your question, but had to add I think this is the dumbest stamp set ever. It ended up in my donate pile.

Was not fond of this stamp either. SC really needs to start having more projects by the CT using their kits/shop items.

I went to go search the gallery over there and you can't see DT contributions earlier than the current month's kit...I looked at it recently and that wasn't the case then...wtf?

You have to change the kit name in the address bar - so replace pool-party at the end with whatever kit you're looking for. The website is so badly designed it used to drive me crazy. Now I don't bother looking for anything anymore.

It really is a funky stamp. I think I finally gave up on it and gave it to my 6 and 4 year old to stamp with.

I asked but, honestly, didn't get much wiser. You are supposed to combine the shapes in some way. Haven't used this stamp set yet.

I could reach the page with my thread, no problem? It's there. For me, at least. ETA: Oh, the link within the thread does not work any longer. Mysterious. I remember they showed some ways to combine the shapes but I no longer remember how you were supposed to do it, so it's not anything intuitive.

The weird shape on the bottom is half a hexagon. Turn it upside down to stamp a full hexagon. Or, you can combine the obvious half hexagon with the small diamond and the weird shape to create the larger hexagon. As far as the other shapes, they remind me of quilting, where you can combine to create patterns. Something like this:

Thanks for all the help. It's an interesting idea but definitely seems like a lot of work. Don't know if I'll actually use the set or not.

Unfortunately, my experience is that SC stamp sets are often more 'interesting' than useful.
