Had a tough day at the dentist. My 64-year-old teeth hurt, as do my gums. I take really good care of them, but the teeth crack easily from the crappy desert water I drank from the hose hahaha as a youngster. And whoever invented those sharp pokey metal things ought to be ashamed of himself (likely a man!!). So, it's banana pancakes tonight. Dh is thrilled because that means real maple syrup and butter. KelleeM - I hope you are doing better. I read the other thread and hope things improve. And that meatloaf looks delicious cadoodlebug - my late FIL loved horseradish and I served it to him a lot. I printed that out and will add it to my recipes. Thanks!

Stove top pasta. I made it up-bow tie pasta, a bit of chicken stock, a bit sour cream, a bit of chicken, throw in some spices and peas and...well, it isn't the best, but it is kind of like a chicken pasta soup that isn't soupy. Except-I think I salted the water twice. I don't think I have ever had such salty pasta. Like almost too salty to eat. Oooops!!! I've over salted soup before ... I no longer buy "no salt" chicken stock ... I go with the "reduced salt" stuff because obviously I can't be trusted with the salt shaker

But I do salt the water when I make pasta and ever since I read that it should be salty like ocean salt water, I can go way too heavy handed if I am not paying attention. Apparently, tonight? Heavy handed doesn't even cover it.

My goal this week was to cook every day now that we are through the baseball, school, graduation, grad party craziness. Tonight as going to be grilled sausages-buffalo chicken for dh and smoked sausage for ds and for me. Dh didn't want anything spicy, so i sent ds out for broasted chicken and potatoes.

I miss Kathy too, I still can't quite believe she is gone KelleeM you've been in my thoughts today, I hope things are starting to look brighter. It was Taco Thursday in our home. Build your own taco / nachos, with all the usual topping options. Easy night with lots of salad vegetables.

Pulled pork on french rolls, corn on the cob, left-over twice baked potato from last night, and fresh fruit.

It's too hot to think about dinner, plus I got busy and never made it to the store. Thankfully I keep a stash of Bison & Beef Tamales in the freezer! The are warming on the stove now. Will eat some fresh cantaloupe and watermelon and call it a night. Tomorrow may be a Costco chicken kind of night!

I didn't get my ice cream but made popcorn...it filled my belly.
Thank you all for the good thoughts. I'm very hopeful that by dinner time tomorrow I'll be breathing a huge sigh of relief. It's horrible when you're far away from your children and they need you.

For those who said my meat loaf recipe sounded delish ~ it was!! DH and DS always put lots of ketchup on their meat loaf but they thought the sauce was too good to cover up with ketchup!

We had what, in my family, is called "kokabarley". It means you throw a bunch of stuff in a pan and hope for the best. I used cauliflower rice, rotisserie chicken, tomatoes and garlic all sauteed in an herbed olive oil. It was a success!!! (That doesn't always happen).

Pizza from DS's favorite place. We had a mushroom and a roasted eggplant. KelleeM, I hope that all is well tomorrow.

My dinner plan derailed completely. About 1/2 hour before I was about to start cooking I found out that one of my oldest and best friends in the world died. So, dh rightfully ordered Chinese take-out and told me to take it easy. I'm in shock and wouldn't have been safe or focused enough to cook tonight. I'm grateful for dh, but so sad about my beloved friend. Life sucks once in a while.

Heck, I'm still so sad about AKathy and I never even got to meet her in person. I'm glad your DH is taking good care of you.

Thank you so much for your condolences. It's very bizarre. lucyg, I miss Kathy a lot, too. She was not just our thread mama, but she was a huge support system, since our diseases are not that dissimilar.
