Ooh ooh hang on till I get home. They're Traeger recipes but the concept should be the same, right? You can smoke as well as grill?

I don't have a recipe for you just something my uncle told me. His makes for a great pizza oven. Make your own or get one ready made from Wal-Mart to try it out.

Be patient with yourself as you adjust to using it. My DH sorts through his charcoal looking for the right sized chunk. He says that he needs a different order of sizes depending upon his desired temperature range.
Enjoy it! We absolutely love ours! I love how well it performs in the winter.
We do have a cast iron grate for steaks and chops.

Smoked Ribeyes with Chimichurri You can make the chimichurri sauce or not, but this was hands-down the best steak I've ever eaten anywhere. DH was so proud of himself! I used the Prime 1 boneless ribeyes from HEB. You can't go wrong. Also these Corn and Cheese Chile Rellenos are a little time-consuming, but delicious. The roasted tomato salsa is worth it by itself, but the chiles are excellent. Obv the directions are specifically for the Traeger but it should work pretty much the same way ...

Also no recipe, but bacon-wrapped shrimp done with a little smoke and then finished briefly over higher heat ... out of this world. Sprinkle a BBQ seasoning with a little sweet in it over the shrimp before cooking.

Though I don't have a recipe I do have an idea. DH uses Trader Joe's pizza dough and makes great pizzas on the BGE. Enjoy it. Also, it makes good s'mores.

What size egg did you get?
Dh does the cooking on it. So, I'm limited in recipes.
Baked potatoes are a must.
Beer can chicken. We just use a soda can filled with water. We use a Weber (?) seasoning to coat the chicken, after spraying it down with olive oil.
Pizza
Salmon in foil packets
Red potatoes, green peppers, and onions in foil packets--add Feta when they come off the grill. I think he seasons them with rosemary.
He's made shrimp & veggie kebabs recently. So very good.
I bought him a cast iron dutch oven. Hoping to try making chili and a roast with potatoes.
There is a learning curve. It is so worth it though.

I love, love, love my Egg. My favorite thing to grill is bone in/skin on chicken breasts. The bone and skin keep the breast so moist! I shred the chicken and use it for recipes all week. I need to be more creative with my Egg so I will keep my eye on this thread.

We have enjoyed ribs cooked on BGE on the rib rack. Yes, there is a learning curve. Our family also enjoys cornbread baked on it. Does take a while longer to cook.

Another tip - get a good digital meat thermometer.

My DH made this on our Egg for the 4th and it was delicious! Better than Sex BrisketOne tip - we were smoking a slightly larger brisket than the one in the recipe and it stalled at 156 degrees for hours. We were starting to think that it would never get any higher. DH wrapped it (Texas Crutch) before it got to 170 and that got the temp up. So don't be afraid to wrap it before the recipe says to.

The Large one has been perfect for us. I can't imagine using the XL one. It seems like there should be a size between them, because the difference is so large.
Dh bought the BGE thermometer for his b-day a few weeks ago. It's expensive. But, he has been pleased with it.
He has other accessories for it. I'll ask him what he recommends.
I do know he ended up buying a heavy duty grid (?), grill (?) plate. There are also a few ceramic plates.
I'll ask him while we are out and about today.

I think my thermometer is All-Clad. It's long, and that helps avoiding the heat.
Oh! Grill gloves! Can't touch hot stuff without them.

Make sure you "burp" your Egg when grilling on high temperature. I have burned the heck out of myself several times 'cuz I forgot to do that when grilling on high temperatures.

I have bake bread and a apple crisp in mine but don't do it the day after you smoke meat because it will taste smoky !
