Thank you for sharing. I just bought this book for my Nook. I am one who doesn't know what to say or do, unless it is my immediate family member. Your words have helped me think that I can do this for anyone who needs my help. That's great!

I have thought this before when reading your posts but it never seemed the right time to say it so I'm just going to say it now - you need to write a book. I think it would be very helpful to those going through a difficult time and those who seek to support. Print out every one of your posts as a reminder of all the grace and kindness you have shown and accepted during this period. You are a great example of the good that exists in this frail condition called humanity. THIS a 1,000 times over you never know how your experiences have influenced someone else or helped someone else. Even what you you have shown has helped them go through shown them that life is precious and you just never know how you impact others for the better. Wow. Thank you. I tell God often that I don't want any of this to be wasted. So if our experience helps someone else, it helps me too.

All I can add is, if you see something that needs to be done, just do it. After my parents died, an old friend - from years ago - reached out asking a very specific question - is DD 2 at camp? She knew the exact camp from her sister, knew from Facebook that DD was likely there and asked to confirm. As soon as I said yes, she replied "we will get her to you. Don't worry about picking her up." It saved me driving 2+ hours each way and was something I would have never thought to ask someone to do. I am still in awe of what a wonderful thing she did for me.
Look around, see what needs to be done and just make it happen.

It's not the same as someone right around the corner but the emotional support from our friends here really does make a difference.
