I've lost my kindle. Just can't find it anywhere. I had it on Wednesday in the car when I went to pick up little dd from day camp but I remember carrying it back to the car. I remember putting it in my purse to carry it in. And that is all I remember. This is my replacement kindle for one that was stolen from my car 3 years ago when I forgot to lock my car. DH is pissed. I'm hoping I find it but feel lost without it. How long would you wait before you think it isn't showing up? Paige. Update!! I found it tonight while I was putting on my jammies. It was on the floor in my closet under a pile of older clothes I'm donating. I guess I dropped it in there and the pile kind of collapsed onto it. I saw the purple of my case peeking out. Feeling glad . Guess it's been there for 3 days.

You know what will happen: as soon as your order a new one, the old one will suddenly reappear .
Personally, I would wait a few more days. But I know how you feel. I'm lost without mine too.
Hope it turns up.

By any chance did you have the wireless mode turned on. If so, should you be able to "see" it as being attached to your router. If you can then you know it is the house and you need to scour the place.
I would sit and try to work through the steps you took on Wednesday? Did something happen to throw your normal routine and that meant you put down the Kindle in a different place. What were you reading, were you keen to finish a particular book and maybe took the Kindle with you to grab a few more minutes of reading time? Just trying to jog your memory.
If you have no luck and decide to replace and you're an Amazon Prime member, wait until Prime Day to order in case there is a special offer.

I'd wait for a couple of weeks. I read from my Kindle app on my phone in addition to my Paperwhite so I can at least keep reading.

If there's any chance the Kindle is not in your house, consider deregistering it. Then, if it's picked up by someone else, they don't have access to your Amazon account.
This will remove all your books, but they're in your Amazon account and can be downloaded again if you find the Kindle.
We went through this when DS left his Kindle in a desk at school. When he went back to get it, it was gone. We assumed the worst and immediately deregistered the Kindle.
Fortunately, though, a friend had picked it up and gave it back to him the next day. All I had to do was register it and download the books. It took a while, but it wasn't a difficult procedure. (PSA It's fastest to transfer lots of books via USB.)

I would immediately go to the Amazon site and unregisterer the Kindle so no one can purchase books on the Kindle.
If it's Kindle ereader, I don't believe there is a way that you can track it.
I agree with waiting until the Kindle prime day if you're a prime member. There could be a great deal on a Kindle model you might be interested in.

I would personally wait a bit and offer money to my kids for finding it. It's amazing how good they are at looking for lost things when their is a money reward offered!

I'm assuming that you checked the sides of seats and under them? I once lost my military ID. I'd had it in my pocket and knew it was in my van somewhere. It had fall end under my seat and under the floor mat. I have NO idea how it could have happened. But I was happy not to go through the process of reporting it lost.

can you track it? I didn't know there was a "find my kindle" app and other ways to locate it thru amazon. if I had known that a couple months ago, I could've found our missing fire. now the battery is dead.

Missing Kindle - I'd wait about 33 seconds then order a replacement.

Really? You've used it for 3 years and it's $100 bucks. I'm sure you can afford to replace it.
