Was talking to my mom and between her, me and my sister, we have VERY extreme differences in our water bill. I know it all depends on what size family and such... but on average what is your bill?
Me, I live in Colorado, we pay about on average $110/month.. family of 5. (includes watering the grass, normal laundry, showering, nothing extra really)
Mom, lives in Oklahoma, pays about $40/month on average.. family of 2. (they live in the country so they don't water grass, but showers and laundry)
Sister, lives in Florida, pays about $250/month on average... family of 5. (includes grass and pool, but pool really isn't an issue as it has water in it year round and she is thrifty and tries to collect rain water to keep it full...and includes laundry and showering, etc.)
I just can't believe mom only pays $40 a month!!! Even though there is only 2 and no watering of grass.. when we don't water grass our bill is still around $90

We pay quarterly and it runs about $200/qtr. slightly lower in the winter and higher in the summer with topping off the pool and watering the yard/garden. That includes sewer too.
Eta: small town Michigan.

We pay about $65 for two months for water and sewer. There are 2 or 3 of us home based on school year. We have a well for watering the lawn. I live in a Minneapolis suburb.

Eta: small town Michigan. Just about the same here. We live in NH. I think the highest we've ever had was about $250 for the quarter and it was definitely our early Sept. bill which covered the Summer months use.

Wow... impressive!! Do you water a lawn for that as well? So far, seems to me I live where water costs more.. other than my sister, which I find crazy because she is surrounded by water. I'm off to work.. I'll check back tonight! Interesting though!

I just paid mine, it was $226 for three months. Three people in MI, we do not water the yard (only some flowers), do not have a pool etc. This also includes sewer, trash/recycling. DD does like to take long baths often.

I pay about $25 a month. Family of 2, in Missouri - we don't water our yard unless we have a really hot/dry spell and even then we don't water the backyard (we haven't watered so far this year), but I do water a couple of flower beds regularly.

We have well water/septic so no monthly costs.
But we need to maintain our water system, terrible water so it probably costs us a couple hundred per year for that--more if something breaks or unforseen things. Plus we buy bottled water to drink.
I just asked some friends who live in Ft Lauderdale, they pay about $60 per month including pool and watering small yard.
OP--just wondering what area in Florida is $250 a month? Do they have a big yard?

Our water bill also includes trash pick up and curbside recycling pick up. And we have a pool! For our family of 5 it's about $120 a month in the summer and about $90 a month in the winter when the pool is closed.

$65/month includes trash and sewer. We have irrigation water for the yard (everyone in town is part of an irrigation district and has water rights for their lawn. It's quite nice. $100/year for water.) I do have three teenagers at home, two of whom think showers are for contemplating the mysteries of the universe. The 14 year old still thinks 10 minutes is a long shower, bless him.

$60/mo family of 3. DH is home full time (medically retired). That doesn't include trash pick up. That's another $50/month as I have to contract with an outside company, no town pick up. This is a small town in MA.

I'm not sure what the water portion alone is. Our bill includes the water, sewage fee, trash and recycling pickup, and it runs about $75/month. We do not water the lawn and we do not have a pool.

About $35/month for water. We don't have a sprinkler system but water the lawn occasionally in the summer if needed.

We also have a well and septic, so no water bill, but my electric is probably a lot higher than yours because of the pump. We also buy bottled water for drinking, and that adds up. The filters (another cost) take care of some of the metals, but not all of it.

$42-46 a month.
We do not water grass. I have one hanging plant that I water. Sometimes, two. I kill plants. So, I quit planting flowers.
There are 3 adults and 4 critters. I mention the critters because they create laundry.
Basically, dishwasher, showers, laundry, and drinking. Dh makes tea every other day. I drink a lot of water, which is from the tap. Plus, the boy drinks Kool-aid.
Car washing is done from a spring. As was the garden, when we had one.
That will double in August because our rates are being raised. I understand a periodic raise in rates. However, this is excessive.

So in a normal month I don't water my lawn but had to all spring. Didn't change my bill.

Suburban Chicago - about $75 per month, includes water, sewer and trash pick up. Family of 4 and 2 dogs, showers (2x daily for DH), laundry and normal household use. I don't water the lawn, just a couple flower beds and a raised garden.

$60/month for a family of six with 5 of us here most of the time (homeschooled). This includes water and sewer and we never water the grass, only have a few flowers and no pool. We're pretty conservative with our usage though.

Around $80, but we have a pool and very little rainfall to keep it filled. It used to be much higher when we had grass and before we bought a pool cover. We ripped out the grass and replaced it with rocks and drought tolerant plants. The pool cover helps with evaporation.

Ours is free, as we have well water. We are also in CO, but we've had enough rain that we haven't watered yet this summer.
I know that if you have a toilet that runs constantly, it greatly increases the water bill. About a month after we moved out of town (on city water) to where we are now, our former landlord called and said we owed a couple hundred dollars for a water bill. When the property manager had walked through the house on our last day, I had told him about a toilet that had started running sometimes, (so we would jiggle the handle to make it stop) but we rarely used that bathroom. It was not running when he was there, and we turned over the key to him when we left that afternoon, so none of us had used it after I told him about it. I don't know if the new tenants used it and that caused it to keep running, or someone showing the house used it, or what, but we refused to pay for something that was absolutely not our fault.

Our bill includes trash/recycling pick up as well as sewer. The bill is divided in half, whatever our water usage is is the charge for trash/sewer. There is also a fee (i.e. tax) that relates to how much of our property is covered in concrete/building. I think I remember that the money is being used to pay for improvements to the sewage/drainage systems in the city.
All that said, our bill averages about $70/month. That's for 2 adults, normal usage. We noticed a drop in the bills when we got a tankless water heater as well as a new HE washer. In the summer when we run the front/back sprinkler system, it can go as high as $175. As high as that is, it is a drop in the bucket compared to what replacing the landscaping/grass would be.

City of 50k in Michigan, we pay $60-85 a month. Price includes trash pickup.
This includes laundry, showers, watering of garden/grass, drinking (fill a pitcher with filter at least once a day plus water for animals) for a family of 4.
