I really, really liked this show the first couple seasons. The next couple of seasons were "meh." But this last half of Season 5? Hate to say it, but I'm so ready for this to end.
This season just seems to have jumped all over the place, with no rhyme or reason, and some of the side stories have just been so random. If I hadn't watched from the beginning, I don't think I'd even finish out this season. But, since I've stuck with it this far, I'll see it to the end.
Anyone else feel like this?

Yes, weird. But really tying up loose ends!
ETA: Will Cullen survive the finishing of the railroad?

Yes, weird. But really tying up loose ends! ETA: Will Cullen survive the finishing of the railroad? My mom and I were guessing about this today. She thinks he'll die before it's finished, or right at the end. I think he'll finish, get on the train to the West Coast, and find himself alone in California.

Do you think Mei Fong left because Cullen told her he'd owned slaves?

When Cullen and Mei Fong were riding back to Truckee after Cullen killed all those men, she wanted to keep on moving saying it wasn't safe anymore. Then, when they were in camp, and she saw the Chinese men coming to see Cullen, she said it was never going to end. So I think she left for not only her safety, but for Cullen's also. But the whole Mei Fong story really bugged me. In Saturday's episode alone: Mei Fong: "I love you. I want to make a life here with you." Cullen: "No, it's too dangerous for you here." Mei Fong on way back to Truckee: "We need to keep moving, it's not safe here." Cullen: "No, you're safe here." Cullen: "I love you." Mei Fong: Takes off on slow boat to China, lol. The entire story line bugged the crap outta me.
