I've started a *very* small purge box in my scrap room, and can't help but think about those papers/embellishments/ entire lines that I've been hanging on to for months or years, waiting for the perfect photo, project, or what have you. My hoard-without-using list includes: - the entire Country Kitchen line from FarmHouse Paper (does anyone remember them? They were in business like a year tops.) - almost the entire lines of Let Freedom Ring and Americana from Pebbles (I am a total sucker for Pebbles' patriotic-themed lines) - of course, lots of long-discontinued OA, including a couple of sheets of the "Recess" paper from the Report Card line, that I ordered last year from a German scrapbook site, which are basically the crown jewel of my stash!
- and last but not least, one lonely sheet of newsprint vellum from K&Co that I think I've had for about 10 years now. So I'm curious to know, what do you have squirreled away that you can't bring yourself to use?

I'll have to go to my room to make the definitive list, but I have many items that I pull out and whisper " my precious" to every once in a while.

I don't really have an issue with not using it but I do have a sizable collection of October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket papers (2 full Cropper Hoppers each) Those 2 and Sassafras I have allowed myself to buy as much of as I want. Otherwise I limit myself to no more than 2 sheets of any one paper, except for a very few favorite collections. O.K. O.K. I just pretty much have a problem all the way around.

I used to have a problem with Chatterbox and Basic Grey and MME papers and.... But I've made great strides in actually using what I like or time goes by and I pull it out and think "what the h!@#l was I thinking?"

I don't hoard particular papers or lines on purpose. But if I really like something, I get several pieces of it. I have a fear of running out of my favorite themes and colours, so I keep collecting. I use a lot, but not as much as I collect...
The last few pages I scrapped, I used some Little Yellow Bicycle summer papers, and they've been out of business a couple of years. Wasn't hoarding it because it was too valuable to cut; just hadn't needed it until a couple of weeks ago.
Themes that are over the top for me are Christmas and Fall. Have a fair travel stash too. And little boy stuff. I also love school stuff, and since I do maybe 6 pages a year with a school theme, what I have will last forever.

Lots of Scenic Route, October Afternoon, Sassafras Lass, Crate Paper and of course Webster's Pages since I worked for them for so long.

Actually nothing. I used to hoard stuff - mostly embellishments and ended up getting rid of stuff because it was no longer my style or I realised I didn't like it anymore. Now my aim is to only buy what I'm going to use in a reasonably short time.

I don't really hoard papers cause there's always more coming along. That said..... I do still have the Kristina Contes papers that are so old, I don't even remember where they came from? Her own kit? Studio Calico? I don't know but I seem unable to cut into them. And remember Amy Tangerine's first line, there was the lack & white chevron fabric paper, I have a few sheets of that I can't cut.
Other things, those Heidi Swapp red & pink chipboard hearts and acetate shapes. Love em, wish she would make more cause the red & pink hearts were the best thing ever! Also photo turns/anchors. I have a few in my stash like red 7 Gypsies arrow ones and some American Crafts ones that came in colour packs of a few different designs, I love them and am starting to run low so I need them to become trendy again so I can start building my hoard back up again!
And with that, I am a throbbing member. I can never post again!

K&Company used to sell these embellishment mega sets on QVC a long time ago. I, being me, had to get as many of them as I could. Well yes I still have them. I pull them out every so often and look at them. I put them in a circle around me and love them. They are my favourite hoarded things.
I also hoarded Prima flowers. I haven't bought any in a couple of years as I have over 300 packages of them. I don't have the room to store that many any more so I had to quit buying. I still love them but from afar.

I've definitely gotten better about hoarding. Seeing Nicole Jones grab a gorgeous piece of paper and cut right into that sucker and then realize it isn't exactly right and then cut it again is helping me get over hoarding. I want to have finished layouts more than I want a stash.
But to answer the question I have been holding on to the Melissa Francis Kitchy Kitchen and BG Blush collections for a ridiculously long time. I'm sure I have more but those were the first ones I thought of. But like I said, I'm getting better. I just haven't had the pictures to go with them yet. But when I do I'll use them.

I'm trying to do better about it...but I have to be confident in my decision before I'll use a favorite PL card (not the ones from the kits that you get 900 each of, but ones from kits that are only one each) or cut into a paper that I love. The hard part for me is that I need sketches to do 12x12 layouts and being a rule follower, I have a hard time adjusting the sketch (when I try, it never looks right to me until I go back to the sketch design) to suit my needs, so I try and scale everything exactly as it is in the sketch. Nothing hurts my heart more in the scrappy world than to cut into the only sheet of a paper I'm head over heels for only to realize I cut it too short or in the wrong orientation, etc.

The main things I hoard are Sassafras Lass and October Afternoon. Sass is always bittersweet to use because it is so beautiful, but I know I will never be able to replace it. I do have a bunch though because every time they had a sale after they were going out of business I bought a couple of boxes at least...don't judge me! I have started to use it more often though...I just used FOLDIES on my last layout and they still look amazing and not dated at all (IMO). When it comes to OA I am bordering on obsessive as many on this board probably already know...I have a pretty massive stash of Rocket Age including the Chip 'N Stick and an 8x8 pad...eventually I will have the right photos for it!!!!! I do try to use my OA though because it looks much prettier in my books than in a box, but it is hard when I know I can't replace it. I am fairly obsessed with Chip 'N Stick packs in general, and I wish I had at least 2 of all of them. I need to push myself to use them more often.
Other stuff I hoard: Vellum, especially metallic print vellum. I may have 5 sheets of large gold polka dot vellum... Puffy stickers: I still have almost 2 full sheets of the puffy hearts from Dear Lizzy Daydreamer and...oddly a few choice embellishments from the original Love Elsie lines like some rubber embellishments, rub-ons and a couple of sticker sheets.

But dang it, it's hard to pull the trigger and cut into that paper!! Save

Ah, Love, Elsie. I have quite a bit of that stuff yet. I love the chipboard buttons and epoxy embellishments. When the first Amy Tangerine line came out, I thought it was very reminiscent of Love, Elsie. It always seems fresh to me. And I agree that Sassafras never looks dated either.

Remember the good old days of SC when they made Fab-rips? Sigh... I think this speaks to why I hoard things as well...as AC gains more and more companies under its umbrella, and the brands become more homogenized, I worry I won't actually have the supplies I need and like to scrap with. Silly, I know, as I have piles and piles of pretty paper, but that fear is always lurking anyway. Save

I had some of that Country Kitchen line, too, sarahbee, and I just purged it last weekend (part of a huge scraproom purge.) I guess my tastes have changed, it was too distressed and dull for me now. I got rid of a lot of "brown" papers, from that period when everything was distressed and aged! Just not my style anymore. I hoard my October Afternoon stuff, especially the remnants of their Christmas lines. I have it all separated out into its own containers. I do use it, but I treat it like rare treasure. Apart from that, I have no problem using up stuff, because I know there will be new stuff right around the corner...for now, anyway. Maybe in another 10 or 20 years our hoard will be more precious, I don't know.

I am hoarding my 7 gypsies items, travel collection from Making Memories(Passport), all of my Rusty Pickle paper and I always use my OA items-I have quite a stash from them but now I think I will want to hoard them for fear they aren't coming back.

I used to hoard paper. Now it is dies and embossing folders because I go between scrapping and cardmaking. I had to catch myself from hoarding digi files when I first learned about digital from my friend.

I don't think I really hoard scrapbook stuff - I have old stuff in my stash but it's not because I'm saving it, it's because I haven't used it yet. I've gotten much better lately about only buying when I've been scrapping and trying not to buy more than I used up (so my stash size stays about stable)...next step is to buy LESS than I used up so the stash starts decreasing in size
Now I DO have a metre of libery of london fabric that I've been saving for over 20 years...I take it out and pet it and tuck it safely away.
