I would be interested to hear melissa 's response, but I am going to say yes. I get all of my PMS symptoms after my period has ended occasionally. The emotional swings, the headaches, etc. I mean, I can't be that bitchy for no reason at all, right?

I am 49 and have started having worse symptoms after my period than before it, so my answer is yes.

Well maybe this is what was going on with me on Thursday Friday and Saturday...I was a damn mess...hugs to you...I know when I get like that I have to completely disengage with everyone around me and honestly I'm best off just going to bed.

This was me this past weekend. Just irritable and cranky, headache and just wanted to be left alone. I had just finished up a day or so before that. God I can't wait to be done with this every month.

The only time this began to happen to me was when I was in perimenopause. Could that be it? You could get your blood tested to see where you are with it...... It helped me. I was getting headaches and mood swings mid-cycle, but found out that I was in perimenopause. That all ended after my hysterectomy. I'm on hormones (bad, I know, but I had a REALLY bad time with my symptoms--hot flashes 24/7, no sleep, etc.......) and sometimes they give my migraines even more pain. Good luck.
I will tell you that the mood swings/crying, etc., didn't last for me as soon as I was entering full-on menopause. HTH.

Is anything going on with your parents - with your dad's health - that would add stress?

Is anything going on with your parents - with your dad's health - that would add stress? Aw, that's sweet of you to ask--no, things are status quo with my folks right now. Dad has the summer "off" from treatment; he'll have another MRI and oncologist appt in August. Fingers crossed that the cancer stays away for a (long) while longer... There are a few things making me sad--a friend moved away, another friend's son passed away on Sunday (drugs)--but this is just a ridiculous amount of weepiness and alternately cussing out inanimate objects. Good luck! I kept waiting and hoping in my mid 40's that I'd be at the beginning of menopause, but a 52 it STILL wasn't happening!! I had to get the hysterectomy because my periods became more horrific and painful and I had a huge fibroid (turned out that it was larger than my uterus). I'd definitely get your levels checked out just to see where you are. The good part is that when you're all done with your cycles, life does get easier (eventually). I'm 55 and things are much better in that department. I wish you the best.

I have always believed in this. I always got a migraine just as I was coming off my cycle, not before. I know it was hormone related. I got it every single month a day before it was over.
Now that I am post menopausal I don't.
I think we women know so much more about our bodies and what's going on than labels will tell.

No such thing as post-menstrual syndrome per se. The others beat me to the punch is saying that being perimenopausal alone is enough.
