Just asking you to share if you have had to have a mole removed because it looks irregular and multi-colored. I had a check-up today with my dermatologist for a follow-up for a removal he had done on my finger and he asked if he could do a full body check. He found a mole on all places my butt - I would have never seen it so I have no idea how long it has been there. (Picture dog chasing tail in circles and that would be me trying to see this thing). I'll have the results back in about a week.
If you've experienced this would you mind sharing the results, your feelings, etc . . . I don't want to tell my family yet because it probably isn't' anything but I needed to talk about it because well, I just needed to. I'm not going to Dr. Google - because that just isn't good, for me anyways!

My DH had a suspicious spot on his back removed. It was melanoma. He FREAKED out. He had to go back in after getting results and have more removed because they didn't get a clear margin. After the removal, he is considered cancer free. His looked like a splotch, multi colored, not round and "normal". DH was on 6 month revisits for 2 years and now he's on yearly checks.
I have had several moles removed due to looking weird and they have all come back normal. My most recent one was about 3 weeks ago. It was speckled on top but round. It was also raised up and I kept catching it on stuff. I asked to have it removed. I have some that I think are suspect but the doctor keeps telling me they are totally normal. I go yearly for a check.
It can go either way. Fingers crossed your results come back as normal.

I've had about 8 removed in total over the last 20 years. All but 1 came back as non cancerous. There was 1 that was determined as precancerous. If the edges test ok for the removed section, you're good to go.
It was scary the first time because I was sure it was going to come back bad. The others were removed as more of precaution, and that's how the precancerous one was found. I was anxious for the results every time. It's so hard to wait.
I was distracted though, because I had all mine removed from weird spots that made healing tricky. 1 on my scalp, 1 on my neck near the collar bone, 2 on my arm near the elbow, 2 right below the bra line on my chest, 1 on my knee, and 1 on the tip of my 2nd toe. The toe was the worst.
I think my dermatologist said more often than not, there's no issue, but its best to take them off if they look suspicious. I have fair skin and my family has a history of skin cancer, so I am very aware of the moles on my body!
I hope you get your results quickly and all is well. And you are wise - do not google it! It will not help at all.

I've had several moles removed over the years.
One big irregular multi colored one was normal.
My pencil eraser sized, all brown mole was atypical, as was my puffy pink mole.
Don't panic. Even the atypical ones can be quite easy to deal with. The surgery to remove them isn't fun but it's no worse than getting a filling or something like that. This is something that can be dealt with.

Yes, I've had quite a few removed from my back. My dermatologist uses a 'punch' to remove the quickly and then a couple of stitches. The worst bit for me is the injections around the area to numb the pain prior to removal. All mine have come back normal. I shouldn't worry too much:)

I had one removed from the back of my thigh. I noticed that it was puffy when it had never been before, and it had become quite itchy. Doc removed it and it was nothing.
I hope your mole turns out to be nothing too!

I had several removed over the years, and all have come back fine. I actually have an appointment tomorrow at the dermatologist because I have a few on my upper back that are pretty itchy in the last several months. I was kinda wondering to myself if I should be concerned when a friend posted a PSA on FB that she had an itchy one that came back pre-cancerous. I call the office the next morning. Hopefully mine are just itchy because I'm wearing more tank tops and my hair rubs on them more.
Sending you good thoughts while you wait for the results.

I agree with pea that said it can go either way so I don't want to say everything will be fine but I've had two removed and thankfully they were normal.
One was actually raised and bleeding and had seemingly changed overnight and the other was tiny but irregular as well. I was sure the one would come back cancerous.
A plastic surgeon removed the one on my face, can't even tell where it was now and my doc removed the other that was on the back of my neck. Both came back fine and healed very well.
Hoping for the best results for you!

My DH had a mole removed at 22. It was Melanoma. The doctor was blessed to take enough flesh as to get all of the cancer out. He has a big scar. He never had chemo because they were able to get all of it. I know this must be scary for you. I hope yours is benign. I'll keep you I my thoughts and prayers.

My dermatologist found a mole - odd shaped and colored and removed it, sent it off for biopsy and it was nothing. Think positive - odds are that all is okay.
