Can you believe that once the employee's manager was approached and advised to talk to the employee about the earrings not being appropriate - the manager stood up for the employee and said that they are not offensive and she has 1st amendment rights. Is she sleeping with said manager? That's the only reason I can think of to "defend" the wearing of *fuck you* earrings in a professional setting

If the manager uses that reasoning in support of those earrings, what is the point of having the dress code at all, since any violation (as written) can follow the 1st Amendment theory?
