Had to walk a mile and a half out of the trail to get a ride 90 minutes to the nearest hospital. Thank goodness my husband and friends were with me and we had van supporting our ride close by. Now we wait for x rays. It's my left arm so three good things
1. Not my right arm 2. None of my legs 3. I was with others and they were awesome
I guess the 4 th good think is that today, unlike the last 3 days, we had a support vehicle in the vicinity.
I hit a bump on a downward trail and flew straight over the handlebars.
*Update* Something IS broken. That's all the X-ray tech would tell me. Now we wait and probably wait and wait to see a dr and get it set.
Update 2
So I have a Distal radial fracture. 6 hours in the ER. He also something block and a reduction. 2 sets of x-rays. I will most likely need surgery but it can wait till we get home. One of my friends us an orthopedic hand shoulder specialist and I have an appointment with him for Monday and lots of pain medication till then

Oh dear. Praying it only needs a cast. Glad to see your listed blessings though in the mishap.

Ahhhh no! Sorry to hear that. When they give you meds don't mess around trying to hold off. Keep ahead of the pain as best as you can.

Oooo Ouch! So sorry you hurt yourself. I'm hoping for speedy healing for you About 15 years ago now, I broke two bones (both spiral fractures) in my right hand when I flipped myself over the handlebars of my bike. I used to hear about people doing that and thought it must be kinda hard but, turns out, it wasn't hard at all. I did it without even thinking.

that's awful! I hope you feel better soon. this just reminds me of when my dad decided to learn riding a bike in his 30's. we were at the park and I was biking ahead of him. I turned to look back to see him slowly peddling wobbly and pretty soon he and a ditch became intimately acquainted. it's not funny but it's kinda funny only because he was okay afterwards. he didn't ride much after that.

Ouch!! I know that's gotta be painful. Hoping it will just be casted and no surgery will be needed.
I just came out of a cast and said the whole time I was thankful it was my left arm! I had broke my left wrist on both sides of the wrist trying to ride my DS's dirt bike. The pain and trouble was not worth it.

I'm so sorry to hear that. After you've healed it will be your crash story! I crashed a few years ago and tried to impale myself on the end of my handlebar. I laid across the trail for a good 5 minutes scared to death I did serious damage. Had to bike 9 miles back to my car. Went to the doctor after 3 weeks because the pain wouldn't go away. Luckily it was just a badly bruised sternum and ribs. Took about 9 months before I could roll over without waking myself up with pain. I had a hellacious bruise on my boob.

I'm so sorry. What awful timing when we're just getting into the heart of summer. Hope you find out the break will heal quickly on it's own without intervention like surgery, plates or screws.
