Had to walk a mile and a half out of the trail to get a ride 90 minutes to the nearest hospital. Thank goodness my husband and friends were with me and we had van supporting our ride close by. Now we wait for x rays. It's my left arm so three good things 1. Not my right arm 2. None of my legs 3. I was with others and they were awesome I guess the 4 th good think is that today, unlike the last 3 days, we had a support vehicle in the vicinity. I hit a bump on a downward trail and flew straight over the handlebars. *Update* Something IS broken. That's all the X-ray tech would tell me. Now we wait and probably wait and wait to see a dr and get it set. Update 2 So I have a Distal radial fracture. 6 hours in the ER. He also something block and a reduction. 2 sets of x-rays. I will most likely need surgery but it can wait till we get home. One of my friends us an orthopedic hand shoulder specialist and I have an appointment with him for Monday and lots of pain medication till then Bummer! I did that to my right arm when I was thrown from my horse. Common fracture for a fall. But since I was only 10 at the time, I just needed a cast up to my shoulder for 6 weeks. As an adult, surgery doesn't surprise me. We take so much longer to heal. I hope that it all heals quickly and that the surgery isn't too complex.

I just read your second update. I wish it was something simpler. I'm glad you have a friend that will be able to help. I hope you're not too uncomfortable. Good luck.

Ouch! This is why I'm a baby about mountain biking. Hope the pain is manageable and surgery is swift.

OMG. That's awful. I'm so sorry.
My sister has permanent (minor, but enough to be noticeable if you know her well) brain damage and some visible damage to one eye from a bicycle accident. I'm wishing you a full and speedy recovery.
