So for about the past month I've been purging then the chore of organizing...When I have been sorting, I just can't seem to get a handle on so many of the little things...to boot I have about 200, 2page layouts with out photos...here's the rub,,I seam to like the creating so much,,,that I do it without photos. I have now started getting together some photos, but I feel kind of less creative kwim?,,,,even to find layouts to match them to....maybe I am just burned out of all the "work" portion..idk, What do other peas do, do you push through it, take a break or sit and stare at all the goodies? Plus now that I have everything labeled and organized, I don't want to mess it up!..what a vicious circle this has been,,, a little help please? thanks

My mother always said... success begets success. Sometimes when I'm in a slump, I take a break (because who wants their hobby to be a chore?) but then when inspiration strikes, jump on it! Then you'll feel motivated to do the next and the next and the next and next thing you know you're back in the swing of it! Was there something you found in your stash you had forgotten about and are looking forward to using, maybe? Good luck and don't beat yourself up!

Or try a different hobby for a little while. Sometimes that helps to bring back the scrapping mojo. Even if it's another crafting hobby.

Ha ha! Are you my long lost twin? I could have written that post almost word for word last year. I too have a TON of premade layouts with no photos that I made as kit samples, and now the thought of going through my photos to match things up is more than I want to take on. I finished building out my studio space and got most of my stuff unpacked, pulled out a bunch of stuff to purge, tried to organize what was left with only moderate success and then completely lost all steam when summer was half over and I had to start thinking about getting stuff together for DD starting school, then Halloween costumes, then Christmas. Ugh. It's still a nightmare. I really need to get busy again but I'm so not feeling motivated.

I'd just take a break, if it were me. Don't make it a chore, just wait until you feel like doing it again.

well I decided to push on a bit...dug into the photos boxes and now need to organize them too....in the meantime, I did corral every bit of those layouts on to a home made scrap rak my hubby made for me,,it has 12 splinders! and did move the thing onto my scrap table to be able to thumb through layouts easier...felt like I made progress today..photos soon will be matched up to the layouts!! thanks all for the helpful comments,,,,

I don't make premade LO's so I can't really identify with that method, but one idea is to match photos to LO's for 5-7 LO's before allowing yourself to make another premade LO...maybe this would help you get caught up?
For me, nothing is more motivating that have all the LO's completed so that I can put them in an album for my kids to enjoy. Putting together the final album is my absolute favorite part!!!

I have hundreds of pre made layouts, but I also have 9 years of pictures to scrap. When I feel like it, I pull out a year of pictures and group them. Then I match the photos to any layouts that work and find some embellishments to add if needed. I find leaving out some photos helps me get inspired. I have a craft room, so that is easy to do.

For me, nothing is more motivating that have all the LO's completed so that I can put them in an album for my kids to enjoy. Putting together the final album is my absolute favorite part!!! I needed layouts without photos for my business. People have an easier time visualizing their own photos on premade layouts if they don't have photos on them. So now I have literally hundreds of layouts with no photos that I could use for my own pics of DD if putting the two things together wasn't such an onerous task! I pulled out a bunch of printed Halloween pics I wanted to scrap and pretty much every layout I had already made had the photo orientation wrong for at least one photo which would mean going back to the computer, cropping and reprinting in the other orientation (not impossible, but a PITA nonetheless). Or the photo that would make the most sense to be enlarged for the page wasn't, which would again require reprinting. Ugh. It's almost easier to start from scratch in that case. The premade layouts are great when you haven't already printed the pics. Then you can print them in the right size and orientation in the first place. I need to just pull out a stack of premades and put them on my desk next to the computer so when I'm editing photos I can find some that will work for those pages.
