I'm organizing my stamps and I have some older SU stamps that have never been mounted to wood. Can I just put the sticker on the sticky grey foam and cover with Tack It Over and Over?
I've already decided not to use EZ Mount due to cost and minimal stamp use, I'm reall just unmounting to free up space. I'm trying to figure out if I want to re-use the SU foam.

Some people have used the thicker clear vinyl. You can get it at Joanna... Like the stuff people used to use to cover furniture. Cut the vinyl slightly larger than the stamp. If the stamps are cut in squares, like the older stampin up, cut around them, stick the stamp to the vinyl and then cut the vinyl. To be honest, these do not stick as well as tack it over and over
Have t You tried what you suggested.. How did it work?

Interesting idea. I have never tried it. I think it would be worth trying with one stamp to see how it holds up, but I can't experiment right now. All mine are packed for moving.
I suspect the Tack-It-Over-and-Over will not stay on as well as it would to the rubber stamp. I take off the foam, down to the rubber, paint on the Aleene's, and after it dries, stamp with foam under my cardstock.

Has anyone here tried this stuff? I'm curious if it really works, but at about $2 a sheet it would be good to have some real life reviews on it! Papilio Printable Cling Vinyl

mzza111 = I've exactly what you said - put the indexing sticker onto the sticky foam and covered it with tack-it-over-and-over, and it works great. The main thing is to cut around the sticker as close to the image as you can so there's a border of grey sticky foam around the outside of it; then coat the whole thing with the TIO&O. This will seal the sticker to the foam - the first set I did, I didn't leave that border and the sticker wanted to pull away from the foam when I'd put it on and off the block. The ones with the border, no problem.
You can also skip the sticker and just coat the grey sticky foam with the TIO&O directly, but when I have the stickers, I like using them.
I tried the cling vinyl back in the day, and I just wasn't happy with the way they stuck (or more correctly, didn't stick) to my blocks. Any little bit of moisture on the block or the stamp and the stamp kind of slid around.

I found the TIO&O so I'm going to setup an assembly line this weekend and get this done.

I guess earlier wood stamps from SU required you to mount them?? I didn't know that....

I guess earlier wood stamps from SU required you to mount them?? I didn't know that.... I think you still have to - you get a sheet of rubber that you punch the stamps out of and stick them to the wood blocks and add a sticker index to the block. Heck, back in the day they weren't pre-cut at all and you had to actually cut around the rubber before sticking it on the block.

Wow....I've never ordered the wood stamps and I never bother to put the sticker on the clear ones....i prefer the photopolymer ones anyway...
