I've never had any problem with Frontier. In fact, I was surprised at how friendly and funny their flight attendants were. Have a fun trip!!

I haven't flown with them but given the options you listed, I would rather take my chances and use them. I would rather have a non-stop flight than to pay more money and add 5 hours to my travel time.

I would not pay more and add 5 hours to avoid them. That would have to be a lot of rudeness, to make that worth it. Just tell yourself before you go that it will suck, and then you won't be let down.
I've flown them and don't remember anything particularly negative, but that was a long time ago.

I've flown Frontier twice, but gosh it's been a looong time ago. Detroit to Cancun and Detroit to Orlando. Both times were fine. We chose them because they were reasonably cheap and direct. I'll be watching this thread bc we hope to return to Orlando in the winter and Frontier are one of the only that provide direct flights.

I flew with them in June and had a great experience. The price was right and the parking at the smaller regional airport was free!

Be aware they charge for ALL baggage. By paying early -- 48 hours to 45 minutes before boarding -- you will pay $30 per carry on and $20 per checked bag. Also the only free beverage is a Cup of water but we had to ask for it, they did not offer it.

We flew Frontier two weeks ago with no problems. My DD flies with them a lot and has never had a problem. We checked a bag going to CO but on the way home that same bag weighed 52 lbs instead of 50. They waived the extra $75 it was going to cost. We will be flying with them a lot more now that DD lives in CO. Cheaper than Delta.

We fly them to visit my husband's family and I hate them. I know they are cheap but it isn't worth it to me. They cancelled a flight on us, blaming it on weather in the city we were in trying to get home from. Every other flight went out that day, same as into our home city. The plane they had put as our aircraft (since they are all marked with animals ) was on the tarmac as well but they insisted that it couldn't fly because of weather. They were horrible. They didn't refund us our costs and then left us stranded having to pay $1500 for a one way car rental.
I don't care if it is cheap, if I have invested money and need to get there then I wouldn't fly them.

I fly with them semi-regularly. There's no way I'd add 5 hours to a trip to avoid them. Frankly I've found rudeness on every single airline. I fly a ton - you're going to run into some bad apples.

I have flown Frontier as well as it's been the best option to visit my sister. I think they are OK.
Again, they charge for everything.
Checked bags. Carry-on luggage. Peanuts. Soda.
Everything.
But for a 2-hour flight, I won't complain. <Shrug>

Are they part of an Apple Vacation package---I would use them--we use them 99% of the time here in Chicago because they are chartered thru Apple. We have yet to have a problem with them as a charter.
I also have a huge group in Florida who have / are using them this week and so far no issues w/them.

I've only flown with them once but it was perfectly pleasant. It was a flight from Seattle to Spokane, and they served local craft beer on the flight. I thought that was pretty cool!

I've never had a problem with them in the past.. but the last few times I have flown has been with Southwest, which I do love... but yeah, I never had a problem. I think most people are going to complain about one thing or another about any airline at this point in our lives.. flying sucks and it's not fun like it used to be.

And the thing is... most of the time it's not really 'the airlines' fault.. it's the fault of the crew of that flight... just like going out to eat, you might get a bad waitress but that doesn't necessarily mean the whole restaurant chain is at fault. There are so many cranky passengers, so many rules, it's just not always going to be happy happy to fly.

Hmmm, sorry you had a bad experience. I've never flown with them, but I'm curious how much interaction people typically have with airline staff. I fly out of LAX frequently and I never seem to have that much interaction with people to create a bad experience. I book online, print my boarding pass, and board the plane when I'm told. Yes, I encounter people in the security line, but other than that it's just the boarding agent and the flight attendants as I'm boarding the plane and say "hello" or if they ask me a question.

We fly whatever is the cheapest and most convenient. I haven't had more issues with Frontier than the other ones. My favorite was Virgin. We just flew Frontier this summer and I think there was a free carry on and the flight attendants were pleasant. Lots of turbulence, but can't blame a company for that.

I have flown with them so much that I have frequent flier miles I need to use. They have recently added more charges for inflight items, but I think they have been great over the last several years.

I don't find most flight attendants very pleasant to begin with, so the flight itself was like any other flight. BUT, the airport help were no help, just snarky, rude people. When I'm looking to book a flight, Frontier is not the first airline I google, that's for sure. If I can find another airline with similar pricing, I'd book the other airline.

I just flew Frontier a couple of weeks ago and yes, they charge for EVERYTHING! Beverages, carry-on bags (and they make you measure you bags to make sure they are not too big) checked bags, food, TV, everything. I flew from SFO to DEN to OMA and each leg they checked my bag for size. The planes were filthy too. That being said, all the flight attendants were nice & the counter people were also very nice and helpful. I did see a flight attendant being not-so-nice to a lady, but that lady was very rude to the flight attendant. I even said to the lady "you know, you catch more flies with honey, they'd be more accommodating to you if your delivery was a bit nicer." She called me a "nosy bitch" and I said "takes one to know one" which got the passengers (and the flight attendant) laughing.
