Yeesh!! This woman was brazen enough to tell reporters that SHE did most of the writing of her speech for tonight's first night of the RNC. "I wrote this with as little help as possible," were her words, precisely. I'm listening to it. My first impression was that she looked incredibly like Caitlyn Jenner. WOW! Secondly, I noted that she didn't give any personal information about how she met her husband (this "great man"). What I DID notice was that many lines of this speech sounded oddly familiar. Yup, she lifted them from Michelle Obama, circa 2008 in the DNC. Ooh boy!! She can easily be hit with a plagiarism lawsuit.
So much for "The Donald"'s small team that he keeps. He should have spent some $$ in hiring GOOD speech writers for his wife to make him come off as a little bit more human. EPIC FAIL!

Omg--- I just saw this on the news and I can't believe whoever "wrote" that speech thought the blatant plagiarism would go unnoticed. That's just insanely blatant plagiarism. A nine year old copying straight out of Wikipedia couldn't do any worse. So much for Melania's credibility.

So much for Melania's credibility. I disagree with this. I'm not going to roast her over this. I will make fun of her and the campaign, but I don't think it destroys her credibility

Very well. She was well spoken and articulate, which given her accent is probably more difficult than it is for a native born.

I think Melania is going to get a pass. But if Michelle Obama had done this 8 years ago, she would have been vilified. Vilified.

I will admit I was not sufficiently interested in her to google her. Just shows that appearances can deceive. The botoxed blow up doll image is an illusion after all.

First she said she wrote it herself with very little help, and now they're saying she had a team of writers. A team suggests more than a little help, but whatever.
I agree with the analysts who are saying that how they handle this is going to say a lot about how they will handle bigger crises.
So far, they are denying that anything about her speech was plagiarized and they're not dealing with it head on. That says a lot.

I think he thinks he doesn't need a team of experts to tell him what to do because he feels he is above that lol. He seems to rely on his kids for guidance so maybe Ivanka will give him the advice he seems to desperately need. I think no matter how it's handled it will be disected by the media and in social media. If she came clean and said yes I plagerized it or said no I really didn't write it all myself she will get blasted either way. I think the chance of her making a statement with even the hint of an apology in it is slim to none because that is not how the Trumps seem to roll.

A comparison of the 2 speeches, with the same wording highlighted in red:
Michelle Obama: And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them, and even if you don't agree with them. And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and to pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children -- and all children in this nation -- to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.
Milania Trump: From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily lives. That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son," Trump said. And we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow. Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.

The most entertaining part of this is on MSNBC the liar Brian Williams is talking about Melania's big lie.

I think she's a pretty robot who does what she's told. I'm sure she didn't write it herself, regardless of what she told Matt Lauer. I don't hold it against her personally, and I don't think she'll be generally blamed for it, either. But I also agree, Michelle Obama would have been roasted alive on a spit for the same offense, and people like Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, and Chris Christie (and all the pea Obama haters) would still be talking about it.

I will make fun of her and the campaign, but I don't think it destroys her credibility I don't agree with this. The only things I knew about her were that she broke up a 24 year marriage and she was a "model" (doing practically pornographic stuff), and that she's from Yugoslavia (and still has a thick accent). Now I heard her say that she basically wrote her entire speech, and it took her almost 5 weeks......... She had "as little help" as she could. She seemed proud of this. Fine. Then she goes on to STEAL someone else's speech? ? If she hadn't said that she wrote almost all of it, I might give her a break, but now I call her a liar. The pieces fit together since her husband's a moron.

Hey, maybe they should have "Never Gonna Give You Up" as Trump's song. Seems that he's tried to use everyone's songs and they flat-out REFUSE him. So, who did he use tonight? Queen's, "We Are The Champions". Word is out that the remaining band members of Queen are in an uproar, saying that he had NO RIGHT to use their music! What a pompous ass he is!!
P.S.: I couldn't help but Google pics of Caitlyn Jenner juxtaposed with pics of Melania from tonight's convention. Very similar!

Melania didn't meet him until a yr after his divorce from Marla.

Hmm, I stand to be corrected. I know she broke up 1 of his marriages though--that was the "word on the street" in NY many years ago........ I can't keep his wives straight. As a sidenote, I didn't recall that he had a child with this one. They're like Kartrashians--always popping out.......

totally off-topic here, but has Trump acknowledged that he has a child (well, she is an adult now) with Marla Maples? Has he mentioned her existence ever in the campaign? He seems to constantly include and reference his kids with Ivana and Melania, but I cannot recall him ever speaking of Tiffany.
**Post-google, I see that she is around and involved with the campaign. Clearly, I was not paying close attention.
