I was watching a video of someone's studio storage. She had a drawer to store her surgical tape.
She was a card maker.
Why would you use surgical tape? Im not a card maker so I just don't understand. Can you explain it to me?

Maybe to secure stencils when using them? I have no idea.

It's gentler on paper apparently than painters tape. It's less likely to tear your paper and you don't need to get the sticky off of it first by putting it on and off your clothes / skin like painters tape.

I have no idea, but I guess maybe use it like washi to secure things - like dies when you're cutting them, or stencils as ExpatBackHome says? ETA here's a blog post where someone discusses uses surgical tape to hold stencils down because it's easy to remove without tearing the card/paper.

Surgical tape can also be used to make your own Washi tape by stamping on it.

Thanks for all the responses. For the life of me, I couldn't imagine why they would need (specifically) surgical tape. I learned something new today!
