reports of many (MANY) from Egypt, Somalia, Yemen etc and 71 from the area in Africa where the Ebola break is coming over our border ... from what I'm hearing they are just asked 'do you have Ebola (or whatever)'? if no, they let 'em thru. The '71' are just those they managed to count.
a dem (Colmes) today said that returning kids would be sending them to certain death, gangs etc. Gee Alan who do you think is bringing them up thru Mexico? Who are the young guys coming over the border with them? MS13(and 18)! Border agents have said that MS13 were recruiting kids even while in their holding places.
FYI to Alan - many (if not all) have relatives already illegally in the US!

I think I read it on here that someone said "Are we still our own country if we do not define our border?". I've thought about that a lot as it seems we are letting so many stay without going through the system our country has in place.

It's been 35 years since I lived in El Paso, Texas. We went to Mexico all the time. When coming back over the border we just said we were American and were let through. I don't remember what non Americans did, I think they had to show some paper work, passport or something? I think that a lot of that changed after 9/11.
How are border crossings handled today? Don't you have to show some kind of paper work?
Ok I googled....... There is a whole list of documents for both U.S. Citizens and People from other countries. www.dhs.gov/crossing-us-borders
So if they are doing things the right way with all the paper work etc... What is it that you want?
Should there be test done?

these people aren't. they aren't coming in by way of a manned border crossing (set up with agents standing there to check 'papers' etc).
I remember in the mid 80's going to Mexico. I parked just this side of the border and we walked over. Shopped for an hr or so and walked back to the car and I drove home.
THIS is different. It is all along the border where there aren't 'set up' areas to go back and forth legally.
and something so many forget (or don't even know) is the damage they do to the desert. It costs AZ millions to repair the deserts.
and how about the feds 'blocking' off areas of OUR country marking that it's not usable to us because it's 'coyote' area. REALLY?

you seriously have something wrong with your thought process. someone with ebola gets all the way to mexico from africa and then walks across mexico and sneaks over our border and we happen to have border patrol agents who speak their languages and interviewd them and got this information? wow

Wait that doesn't make any sense? If they aren't doing it a manned borders who is counting them and how do they know where they are from? Who is asking them "do you have Ebola" and then letting them go?

Why would they bother flying into Mexico and then sneaking across your border when they can just as easily fly into LAX, or JFK? Such silliness.

In the time that it takes to get from Africa to Mexico and then attempt to get across the border, they wuld have obvious signs of the disease. It's extreamly unlikely that they'd even have the ability to walk across the border or sneak across the border. It's ridiculous.

For those who don't know--there are areas where the US borders Mexico that consists of extremely rugged terrain--places where it would be extremely difficult to put up a fence. Many are crossing through the river (where the term "wetbacks" came from). I have read numerous articles giving accounts that Texas ranchers have had concering illegals. One woman came home to find several men sleeping in her garage! They have been and continue to be a problem for ranchers. Would you want random people crossing onto your private property? One man said he placed barrels of water for them at various places where he knew they crossed. He stated that he knew when traffic had increased because the water disappeared faster.

people coming from that area of Africa have come in...
per some agents these people aren't being checked for much of anything.
so why don't you thing someone from Africa could have Ebola?

you need to pay more attention to the news and you'd know this. do you know anything about our south border? how long it is? what the terrain is like? Evidently you don't know how they are coming into our country... how sad is that.

it's on our news more - probably not so much those in other parts of the country. But when our sheriff has to deal with vans and truckloads of them and many of the crimes committed by them - then it is dangerous far north of the border.

Good non-answer. If they are being counted and their country of origin identified (you said 71 from Egypt, Somalia and Yemen), they are coming across a manned border station making the length of your southern border irrelevant. It should also be pointed out that the ebola outbreak is in West Africa - Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leon - far away from Egypt in the north-east, Somalia in the east, and Yemen (not even in Africa).
ETA* I see that the ones coming from Somalia, Egypt and Yemen are not among the 71 you mentioned.

btw, just Mon. a border agent was shot by 2 illegals in southern TX. they'd been here before a few times, were deported and returned...
last wk in 1 day 1 heard of 2 US citizens killed by illegals.

I'm sorry I thought you knew where El Paso was. It's on the border with Mexico. I lived in El Paso so yes I know what the terrain is like. Of course I know how people are crossing. I even knew some of the people doing the crossing. And guess what they don't have horns and a tail.
But that's not what you were talking about. Your OP stated " they are just asked 'do you have Ebola (or whatever)'? if no, they let 'em thru."
Who is doing the asking and let 'em thru ? That's your statement. If you can't answer it just say so.
