I have a designated "skin scrubbing bowl" I keep near the tub. I soak first, then I drain most of the water and sit in the tub and scrub. I rinse the scrubby in the bowl, that way all the gross dead skin collects in one spot and I can get it down the drain better, since my shower is too small to sit in comfortably and otherwise it leaves a gross ring in the tub. Added benefit- you can see all the dead skin that comes off and it is amazing! I use special bar soap to scrub, it's from Korea that they sell in saunas and hot springs but they have it at Korean groceries in the US too.

I was at the Korean grocery store yesterday to pick up some Argan Oil next door. They sell "akasuri" at them too, but sometimes they are green. Have you seen the full mitten you wear? I had one of them and have never seen them since. I would love a few of them if I could find them somewhere. My Korean roommate in college gave it to me. Loved that scrubby thing!

So I still want to know, couldn't you get the same effect with a loofah/coarse sponge/any coarse cloth, scrubby thing, Korean or otherwise? It's the soaking that makes them effective?

I have used loofah, etc and nothing I have used before works like this....I think it has more to do with the texture of the cloth

So, I got my towels yesterday and I promptly used one in the shower...not how you're supposed to use them, but whatever. Anyway, today in the car my SO kept rubbing my legs saying "your legs are so soft." We've been together for 11 years and he's never commented on my soft skin. I guess these towels are really miracle towels. I personally didn't know a difference, but he did, and he has no idea that I tried anything different.

I caved and placed an Amazon Prime order on Friday night after reading this thread. They were delivered today! On a Sunday!
I'm going to give it a try tonight.

Back for my report.....I ordered mine off of eBay (2 towels for $3.50, including shipping). Tried them last week at the end of my shower, and saw a little bit of skin sloughing off, especially on the tops of my feet. I was pretty OK with them at that point.
Took a bath yesterday, and OMG. I had a whole icky field of sloughed off skin in that tub. It came off really easily without tons of hard scrubbing, and my skin feels so soft now! I am not a big bath person, but I am committing myself to taking one at least once or twice a month so I can use this little towel.
Best Pea purchase ever.

I did a soak on Monday night in just plain water and used my towel with just a couple of dabs from a bar of soap. It was disgusting! I can't believe how much dead skin was on my body! My skin looks and feels so nice now. I used my towel for the first time and nothing happened. No dead skin came off, my skin feels the same afterwards.

Well I've bought! I got a nine pack of mixed cloths of three 'strengths' from eBay but they'll take about a month to get here. I've bought them for me, my mum and DD as stocking presents. DD and I both get rough skin on the back of our arms, which is helped a good bit by using the scratchy gloves from The Body Shop, but at the price, I'm happy to give these a go to see if they are better.

Anyone else try them yet? Hopefully mine will actually be here tomorrow I tried mine TWICE over the last few days. First night (Fri), soaked in a hot tub of plain water for about 15-20 minutes. Dear lord at the gunk... I know you're only "supposed" to use them once a week, but there were some areas that I know I missed the first time around - I could literally feel the difference on my skin. Last night, I took a hot shower, washed my hair and used it again. I actually think it worked better for me after a shower than a bath. I did notice after the shower I was a little shaky (like I feel after I've had too much coffee) and kind of dizzy - I don't know if it was a reaction to the scrubbing or because it's been so hot here and I spent 6 hours painting yesterday.

Did you exfoliate your skin regularly before getting the towels? Did you just swipe the towel over your skin or rub vigorously over the skin, as per the instructions?

I rubbed vigorously over the skin on my whole body.

I rubbed vigorously over the skin on my whole body. If you have "good skin" you might not need to do this. I find it makes my skin silky smooth, but I don't get a whole lot of junk off it either. My skin is naturally very soft. I also moisturize with Aveeno Creamy Moisturizing Oil and my skin just feels really soft with it all the time. We also live in cleaner countries. Japan and Korea have a lot of sand and natural dirt in the air. You need to scrub yourself down every day to get the grime off your skin. I would wash my face with a white wash cloth and the cloth would be grey with dirt from the atmosphere. If you are a regular exfoliator or skin scrubber this might not need to be part of your regimen.

okay, you guys have convinced me!! I need to buy something from Amazon for my boyfriend, so I'm going to be adding these towels to that order- I'll report back (hopefully favorably, lol) later this week! I have really rough skin on my knees, elbows, and some on the backs of my upper arms... those will be my 'test case' areas-- ha!

question - what do you do with it when you are done? do you hang it up so it dries out? or is it best to keep it moist?

I haven't read anywhere that they need to be kept moist. Next time I use it, I will either just drop it in the water of the tub or let it just hang out in the floor of the shower until I am ready for it.

I have succumbed to my first experience of Pea pressure. I just added these to my amazon cart. It can't be a coincidence that a recipe book for pressure cookers just popped up in my recommended section

if you scroll a little farther in the 'people who bought this also bought that' section, you'll also see the handle that Elaine has been recommending that is very useful with the Instant Pot! LOL!!
